I'm gearing up to do some performance testing this coming season and need some input on what variables I should be taking into account for these tests.
I'm looking to judge speed and acceleration performance of different upgrades and sized engines. I want to know exactly how much performance gain I get with each upgrade vs stock. Here's where my head it at right now....
-Temp
-Humidity
-Elevation
-Weight
-Distance
-Wind?
-Tires
-Gearing
-Suspension setup
-Diff fluid (I'm kinda lost on what is best for this 2wd)
-Oil ratio
-Clutch Spring
-RPM
I'm unsure what I should set my distances at? I need one long run for top speed and I need a shorter run for acceleration testing. I figure I'll do a set of 10 laps per test (short & long) then average the times/speeds. I also have to start looking for a proper spot to do this, dirt or grass is the question.
