I respectfully disagree and believe the big squid review was fake.

We have put a total of 30 minutes of relativly light field only running on it, no offrading or bashing.

Result = broken rear axle and mount.

Sorry but in my specific case this is a $1000 pos and a bogey.

I should have taken the advice of a few others but I bought into the last two months of horizons marketing.

Better luck to others out there but I didn't plan to get into buying parts this quick!

And no...I own quite a few rc vehicles and truth be told they all require maintenance but not this much this soon. Again very disappointed and there is simply no way this is a strong vehicle now that we tested it...baby tested it at that.

I agree now with others that this truck is total garbage.

i really want one of these anyways even though I've heard this alot

I’m wanting to pull the trigger on the SBR 2.0 but does it really need $1000 in upgrades to be a stout rig?? Kraken RC is about to release the 2nd or 3rd version of their desert truck which is $2500 I believe. May have to wait until it’s release and see.

Did Kraken said anything about the 2nd/3rd version of desert truck, i would like to look more into it if you have some info about it ^^

The only thing they said was it’ll be released by the end of summer, so within a month from now. It will be available in gas, electric, or as a roller.

Sounds like your just bashing them, it's your word when it comes to warranty, and as we all know not everyone's word is worth something. If your in cold weather it makes everything more brittle. For all we know you were going full bore and cart wheeled it. It could likely have been a defect in the plastic which can happen with any brand. I understand your frustration, but sounds like you haven't been in rc to long.
It looks pretty dirty like you were doing some serious driving I mean I guess all our definitions of baby & light are different... But not really

After wrenching on both and driving both and upgrading both, it’s hard to choose one over the other, the sbr is a lot bigger and is almost as heavy as a 1/5 scale which works for and against it.

IMO the traxxas is easier to work on and just easier to live with.

Parts are miles easier to get a hold of for the traxxas and quite inexpensive.

The sbr needs the 5th scale steering servo upgrade imo which is not a cheap upgrade but was straight forward to do.

Sbr is a very sloppy truck and takes time to get to a point you are happy with.

Sbr is larger and in some aspects more impressive.

Traxxas out the box is a great truck even on 4s.

The driving experience with the udr cannot be matched and the realism is spot on, you really have to give it to traxxas for this wether you like traxxas or not.

If this is your first rc I would go with the traxxas. If you are seasoned in the world of rc than the sbr might be for you.

But for me I’m still happy and would recommend the traxxas udr out of the two just for more overall positive rc experience.
