What is the consensus from the greater group on this? Start of an exhaust gasket leak? That is my thought based on its isolated location and the little bit that appears to be lighty covering the engine case almost directly behind it. How often should I look to do maintenance on the gasket, i.e. replace it?

That pipe joint is solid and clean. Fresh silicone coupler went on only a gallon ago. So its solid, good call there though. Blew out the factory one. Primal only sells the exhaust gasket in a full gasket set. I gotta find the one I need elsewhere so I can buy a few of just those. When I change the gasket, how tight should I do the header bolts the engine? I don't want to strip anything.

DDM has lots of gaskets for the header. I even think the hollow stud kit would work to. I had one on my Baja. You can tighten it pretty tight.

I perused DDM couldn't seem to find the right one. This is what I am after, seems to be an odd shape.

Also is this what your referring too?

Just did a quick read up on that stud kit. Seems pretty cool and prevents from having to worry about continual tightening and stretching of the engines bolt holes.

ya the Raminator gasket is a bit different. I found the single gasket only on the primal website. The hollow point I think would fit that flange. It’s just nice to tighten down with a wrench instead.

Got a link for it...I keep finding the gasket combo kit. Lol.
I don’t know how to do the link but it’s on page 3 of engine and exhaust at the very end.

You can try e bay and see if there’s any gaskets there
I bought a 5 pack of complete engine gaskets last year and they come with all the gaskets for the engine and they were cheap only like 20 bucks
Yours doesn’t look like it’s leaking too bad you can prob put a light coat of high temp sealer on the gasket and tighten it back down
I don’t know how you can make those silicone couplers last I could barely get a couple tanks in before they would melt off and my engine was still running rich

I have a few stud kits for the cy/zenoah engines on my Baja 5b but I think they were too small to go in the ram engine
I’ll have to double check when I get back home from work

No joy on finding copper gasket for it. So ill use the ones I ordered from Primal for now.

Should I use some form of high temp gasket maker or something on the threads of the bolts to prevent backing loose?

I just put it on the face of the gasket on both sides. It just appeared to me that composite gaskets had a tendency to allow the screws to back out vs the copper.... you could get a piece of copper and just trace the gasket and cut it out yourself

I checked those stud kits, they are the hollow point ones and the Ram engines bolts are way bigger so they wont work unfortunately
