Well then only replace when/if it breaks. Generally what I do with my rigs, plus spannering is part of the fun.

I mean it's probably what I'm going to end up doing. Want this lump off my work table so I can do other projects.

Z, this is what I used on mine when I cracked the plate in the same place as yours, was £13 with brake cam's etc, be about 16$ or so. Its thicker than the stock one, probably get it from DDM

Hypothetical question, if I were to remove a helicoil, can I put a new one back in? I don't see why not but just wanna be sure. Parts are coming this weekend btw.

Piece of aluminum. Need to remove it for a experiment but I want to be able to put one back in. You'll see if I m successful with my experiment.

I wanna say no. I think I tried to take one out and if I remember correctly it got all fekd up when I tried to remove it. Not sure if it had to do with the fact that a bolt has gone in it or what??‍

I'm not saying reuse the helicoil. I know they are one time use. I'm taking about the actual part, if I remove the existing helicoil, and try to put a new one back in, if that possible?

Ok,if I fek the hole up I can probably get it filled with weld and re drill an tap it, but that's a female dog and in trying to avoid that lol.

Do any of you guys use Time-serts.I have always hated helicoils and they never seem to hold up but the Time-serts hold and take some serious abuse.

Btw, if this thing keeps breaking it's going on the shelf till further notice, I got to buy other poop (new phone, and I got 2 other ideas I want to try).

Yes you can reinstall a new helicoil.
Yes I have full torque inserts, made by the same company, in my 5.9 cummins where the previous owner of the engine messed up 6 head bolt holes trying to "chase" them with a standard tap instead of a metric tap. (Idiot) we used a lot of them in repairs in the machine shop. Most powerful application was to repair a main bolt thread in a 3512 Caterpillar engine. Half the insert ended up needing to be machined off because it stuck out into the main saddle. I think it tanked out our little dyno around 1500 hp amd something like 5k ftlbs torque. We pulled the pan and that main to inspect the insert after the dyno. Looked fine, passed mpi no cracks. So it got shipped.

Got my Madmax top plate today. Looks very nice ? , quite thicker than stock as you see?



Fits well, a bit tight in the back but fits well ?


Header back on
Exhaust mount is a bit bent ?

All back together ?


Hopefully this will hold up ? , thanks @KevTrem for the recommendation ?
Time to get one for the front to replace that feked up one ??
