I had heat issues before but the speed the fan is spinning now is blowing like a hair dryer keeping it cool when it's running but kept spin ing tires I would love to dyno it tho it sounds like a ported 23cc it screams but loudly like it should be an 5th scale formula one car not a rally car

Sounds good
Also for making videos I'd suggest getting some camera glasses and it can be a POV video and u don't need to drag anybody out to film
One more thing, do u have a photo of the piston after ramping,? Cuz it sounds like it does alot and raises Rpms so I wanna give it a go.

Glad to hear it ran well!
Thanks seems to be improving everytime I work on it new alloy engine cover plus widened exhaust port Internally and ramped piston plus slightly raised skirt on the intake side of the piston allows better cooling more rpm and then the dominator exhaust tops it off

Yeah I'll get some never thought of that and no pics it was an impulse job just got in from work and thought of doing it I looked up esp ramped pistons then marked it out and dremmeled then filed it I did it as close to what I saw on Google images maybe a bit further into the piston tho but I'm not complaining

Is this the photo of the Piston ?

You ever try boost porting ?
No read about it but not yet I've thought about it tho and it seems the rovan 45cc has a groove from the base of the cylinder to the pulse hole looks like one of the pics when I was reading about boost porting so I thought .maybe they have already done it mildly

Yeah that's it I copied that but went a bit further back and left 1mm between the ramp and the ring and I did not expect this much of an increase in revs

Ok, I might try it, i dunno, just putting a dremel or file into my cylinder or my Piston just seams really intimidating, I dunno.

Not the best diagram, but I don't have any pics of the porting I've done. Normally you mark bdc on the intake side of the piston. Mark the whole window. Drill two small holes on either side of the piston little but below the ring. Break out the grinder and make two matching channels around the intake port meeting at the top of the port pointed up and out. Helps to keep the piston cool and release the trapped fuel/air under the piston. It's a little harder to do it on the exhaust side normally you'll have to use tubes to make it work right. Sorry for the crappy drawling

I do get it thanks I'll read more on it and if I'm sure I can do it I'll give it a go sounds promising but before I try I gotta get another top end incase I mess it up

This looks easy enough for me as I'm still new to modifying 2 strokes

Only thing is I'm not running a Reeds so I might cause too much blowback through the carb if I go down that route I did run reeds before on another engine I reed ported and I can only get the area v2 reed valve kit at a reasonable price i found the Reed to take away bottom end power slightly no matter how I tuned it compared to not using reeds and installing a stock piston I only benefited on top end when I ran a reed ported piston and reeds even tho it sounded better and screamed I lost the low end torq

Is it that hard for yoyu to post the video your self ? If you can't take the time to post it then it's probably not worth my time to watch it . :banghead:
I post what I can on YouTube haven't figured out this tapatalk app yet

hey if it works that's great
I do think that the faster the air goes thru the better the cooling,
and going across the head would be even better
what are the chance that you may be getting a dead spot in the corner or hot air just moving about in corner
