Hey guys, so I bought a new toy for my boys!! I call it Boobas 30 Degree North truck Build!! They have already claimed it! And she finally came, I just have one issue so far that I can’t seem to figure out and it’s bugging me!! When I try to mount my engine on the new roller the holes don’t quite line up causing the gear mesh to be so tight. I’ve tried changing the positions of the inserts and all I’m getting is really tight mesh or the pinion doesn’t touch the spur? Did I get a defected truck?

I can say that the inserts are definitely wrong in that pic, they should all be facing the same way. Ditch those inserts and use washers, @MonsterAir makes some... although it would be nice to support a forum member you can also probably find at your local hardware store
also you need to make sure you have the correct flywheel cover and clutch housing

This inserts suck I fought with them all night trying one way or another to get it right still can’t lock them down it’s almost like the inserts are made wrong and they’re causing it to torque the motor one way.

Ahhh I don’t have a Losi clutch housing yet. I wanted to try the hpi one to see if it would mount up. So you think the reason could be the hpi holes are just slightly off compared to the Losi?

yep that's definitely the problem
Thanks I wasn’t sure I mean the holes almost line up but not quite. Il get some parts ordered.

@Crazybajabuild are you using a zenoah or a cy fan housing?

A 5ive-t 1.0 requires the use of a cy fan housing as its based on a cy engine. When I put my spare g320 in my 1.0 I had to use the cy fan housing. Also I had th3 stock g320 clutch housing from my 2.0 and it fit as well, you will need to use a cy clutch holder tho as the zenoah one makes the clutch bell hit the outter edge of the clutch and it binds.

I believe it’s the stock fan cover from the g320 i never changed it from when I bought it new.

I'm suspicious of it just because I had to use one for my 1.0 and I used a 2.0 clutch housing and clutch bell carrier from a 2.0 and it all lined up with the cy fan cover. so I dismissed the incompatibility between generations and id bet your housing will work.

I hope it’s the housing or the fan cover.. Makes sense considering it’s for a hpi. I just thought I’d try it since it’s all I had at the moment.. so what’s the differences in these two? Is one just an upgraded version?

The TR case is just bling billet that's all, if you confident in turning it down you can knock off what is needed to make it fit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of finesse to make a part you already have fit.
