Do you guys know how much material you can safely remove from the front of the Turtlr case to fit an Rcmax in?

I've had nothing but trouble with my entire build of stuff not fitting easily and having to modify some parts. Didn't know if it's the modified rc chassis plate drilled incorrectly or if it's just normal, I have basically everything fitting now although very tightly with zero wiggle room after loosening bolts and lining everything up numerous time but come to the last piece, the rcmax engine brace on the pullstart side is falling a mm or two short of the bulkhead and the engine is already pushed up fully against the turtle diff case. I heard it rubbed and may cause a bit of cosmetic damage to the engine but didn't know it actually prevented fitment.

This is the trouble modifying parts because it's hard to determine where the error lies...you could end up grinding one part to make it fit when actually it might be the other part that is out of tolerance. Same with the turtle transmission plate rubbing my brake hex, I've already shave a bit off the brake hex and it is still rubbing when tightened down but I don't want to take too much off and remove the lip of the brake hex in case it becomes too weak and the discs just slide off. Honestly I'll be glad when this thing is built but I'd never want to do it again, I think I'll buy an MCD or Taylor Hybrid next time.

Pics? What bottom plate are you using? Somthing doesn’t seem rite mine fit so good. Tr case. Taylor 50. I’m using a modified hd bottom plate and tr top plate. I didn’t do any grinding.
Modified RC bottom plate, the thick one. Turtle top plate, Turtle diff case. I'm also using the HPI carbon Spurgear back plate that to install around the bearing of the rcmax I had to sand the hole bigger so wondering if it could be that which is a bit out of line...but thing is the holes on that match perfectly with the engine so thinking it can't be. As you can see there is some rub on the engine already just from break in. But the metal brace that goes from the pullstart side to the rear end is falling abit short by like a mm, the hole doesn't line up perfectly and I can't push the engine any further back because of the Turtle transmission case.

Put everything together loose. Start the bolts and then tighten everything up. That’s not bad.

Is that an earlier version of the tr case? I remember reading somwhere they needed to be ground down a bit.

Crap I have a Taylor trans. In mine.

Grind the rear case down a bit. All of them touched the bigbore engines, alx, Taylor etc. The new Taylor case fixed that, and I believe the newer tr cases did also.

On another note, those 5b modified plates always seem to fit worse than their standard plates.

Yea so I've grinded it down a bit and now it all fits snug..think it's still touching but don't want to take too much off...I've basically made a flat spot about as deep as the chamfered edge, don't know if I can go any further. I have heard about this issue before but surprised it isn't more talked about and nothing seems to really be on YouTube about it, wonder if the TR case is more likely to fit with a different combination of other parts. Surprised nothing is mentioned on the Taylor rc website either, I have some nice pitting on the crankcase when breaking the engine in thanks to this.
