for tires, you can get rubber on road the same rims as the buggy. on my semi I just got a set. for the rear you have to add the extension piece to glue up the wider tire, then you don't need to change the gearing... be warned though, they are super expensive. I got a set of pre glued tires and rims from ddm (I really hate gluing tires) with silver rims.

those are the wide rears. they only have the one compound in stock (or did when I ordered anyway)

What happened to the hot chick in your avatar? Why change something good?

Anyway, the wheels for the baja are 170x60 for the front. What about Hostile slicks for the rear? Hostile has them in different colors....Red slicks would look pretty cool. The best all around are the AT's.....asphalt, grass, dirt, etc.

Slaw, you sly dog!!! I didn't know you had hot chicks in your avatar, all I ever saw was the pic of you holding your firehammer and the pic of the beetle body... You had a hot chick?

I could change mine to a pic of my hot chick, but you guys would be so jealous you would never talk to me again! I don't think I could risk that!! I love y'all too much! lol

Trip..

I think Slaw realized he was in "dirty old man" territory with that pic! LOL

Pipe: Those slicks are to much money...maybe not a good Idea to go with slicks...
I mean ..if you have to replace $59.95 dollar tire with every 1 gal fuel...
CSP...I thought this way a family forum?..I wouldn't do any thing like that...
Besides when when you get my age you have seen it all any way,,even some things ya never wished ya had seen.....
Trip: ,,Now I never would have guessed you were hot to trot after a Couple beer's ..
Like a bad dog in heat.......Slawhammer..............

Family? My family isn't in here! ;)

Just ribbing you a bit. :)

I think the Hostile slicks would last considerably longer than whatever the post says a couple up. Slicks would suck on pavement if it was a bit dusty I'm guessing. I would go with AT's. You can run them anywhere, onroad, offroad, Hostile tires rule!

CSP:This is my thoughts on the tire situation....Hostile AT or mini for the rear
Tarmac for the front...Or ribbed sand tire for the front.....Back is doing all the work
Front is just guiding where to go...Don't think need knobby on the front...Maybe
I am looking at the front wrong....Back power on could be pushing the fron in to sliding
conditions....Need some suggestions here..............Yah I can take ribbing pretty good
for laughs......Thanks for your input on the tires....For now I will run my stock wheels on asphalt....And think about what to do there later....Another suck bag day outside..
light snow....Thankd for your input on the tires .....All Replies welcome...Slawhammer

If you are talking about these for the front, they would be just fine, mine are still working well:

Wait on them, they are worth it. I love mine.

I'd stick with HPI wheels since they are easy to get.

Questions for you slaw:

I'm thinking about getting these:

http://powerslideracing.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=57_3&products_id=1742

and

http://powerslideracing.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=57_3&products_id=1741

On the diff mounts, the Firehammer and Firehammer MT's are different. I'm kinda worried because I don't want to get this and there be a surprise.

Can you show a pic of yours? Was there any issue with installing these parts? Everything go together easy?

Thanks!

Hey CSP..yup I am a BTO Now....Big Time Operator....I got my wheel adapters today
in the mail...I think there is better choices for rims & tire with Baja....Less money than the
true FG wheels & tires...Checking on Rims & tires now...Going asphalt & cement for first
choice...Weather should be good by next week to get out for a run......Besides I am not ready for off road yet...Most of you know what wheel adapters are any way...
enclosed pictures......AKASlawhammer

Hey, i forgot to ask, where did you get these adapters?

Just found them:
http://www.rcnutshobbies.com/product.cgi?product=81777&group=

I have a pair and tested them with great results on the Firehammer. I am saving for 4 rear Baja's to finish off the build on the FHbuggy.:)

My photos and test are on Page 6 = https://www.largescaleforums.com/showthread.php?t=1616&highlight=adapters

CSP...The gear plate is ok...
As far as i know thoswe diff plates should work...Send me a picture of the diff
plates you have now in your buggy...
As to the adapter get them from intovative..Large Scale...
RAMTECH ADAPTERS....Where the square is should be same place as the stock one..
Then install the baja wheels.....I could send you mine to try out...

PS you could e-mail Mike at powerslide..ask him about the diff mounts...They should work..
