Check Walmart or something.
They are floatation foams about 4 or 5 ft long and vary in size and color.
Cost less than $5.
I cut these to fit the rim and tires.
They wont absorb water so no more wobble in the tires from soggy foams.
Should last damm near the life of the tires, and beyond.

Funny you posted this, I searched for those damn floatation foams last summer. All they had were the kind that weren't flat everywhere I went.

I found out from pup1970 over on HBF that he uses soft pipe insulation foam (foam tube with the split down the length to fit over water pipes). He said after a season of racing he hasn't had a problem with them. Just glue to the rim, then wrap duct tape around the foam.

Bigger....You will like that wheel tire set up....
Csp..I didn't know any thing about those floatation things...
Flat HmmmmmI will have to check that out....Pipe insulation as well....
Great tips guys.....Slawhammer...........

cool...Hot pink for the roll cage....I will check out wal-mart...I think the closed cell
foam would be better for the application...
I ordered the Hostile AT rear tires..should be here this Friday...
I will let ya know how they work out..I am sure a great improvement in the handling
better rear traction....So far I like the small termac on the front....
Thanks Bigger The Better.....Slawhammer...

I saw the round ones, never thought of cutting them in half! I guess I'll be using them the next time I need foams.

Oh Yeah...I got the friehammer out for a good run..son had his T-Max
lost 3 body clips.3 screws...1 from servo saver...2 from the Dark Soul Cooling Head
broke the back support braces on that tumble in the video...end over end....
the back brace's did there job..that was made to give way.(weak link) So not much damage would be done....We ran at a different place today..there were small chuck
hols all over the place there....Son said does not want to run there again...He blow out the spur gears on his T-Max..What like a $2.00 gear...
He had a hard time trying to follow the beetle with the point & shoot camera..
I thought he did ok for what the camera was...Any way you get the idea...
Hope the video transfer's from photobucket.......Slawhammer

Wow, you actually broke something with that small tumble? That's kind of worrying.

Wow, you actually broke something with that small tumble? That's kind of worrying.

I have had some pretty spectacular wrecks and flips with mine and they came out unscathed. I've also gone over a bump and have broken a knuckle arm. You never know what might break!

Seems like from what I have been reading slawhammer actually got a good run in without breaking something thats puts it down for the count for a minute.
You go slawhammer... Got you a good run in without something stopping the firehammer in its tracks. Thats what its all about. With all the upgrades and mods that firehammer should be pretty much unstopable and bullet proof.
We all know its never like that though no matter how much we like to think our rig is bullet proof.
Didnt get to get my friehammer out today..Busy with family and all. Maybe tomorrow if weather is decent. Ill see what I can tear up.

ok I am back here for now had to make a emerg run to the hosptial....
Small..not to worry for braking any thing....I have a duel roll cage system I made for
the Fg beetle body...I made.the rear end a brake away support if hit just right
as a weak link to save the rest of the RC Unit..all is repaired for $5.00 bucks...It will
be ready to run in the morning....That was a short test run video to check out for the roll cage system as well as finish breaking the engine....It all worked just as I had figured it should...Some thing being to ridiged will cause more damage...
so I am pleased with the results from the testing today....
The real test will be when I get those Hostile At Tires..to check on all different surface's
asphalt.dirt... grass.....the video was not much but just shows it is not a shelf queen...
1 more tank of fuel and I will be WOT....letting it rip wide open....
I plan on having a gsp some time soon...to attach to the wing....If I get 35 MPH..
I will be happy with that....The faster ya go the worse the crash..the worse the repair..
I am in to having fun now..not so much the speed..If I want speed I have gotten a baja
and hopped it up for speed with bigger engine and speed gears...I know with thr righ combonation It would hit 70MPH.....Any way glad you all liked the short video...
Thanks for the replies............Slawhammer...............

Hey teamchrome..It still seems to be loading up..I checked the spark plug for color
slightly black going to brown..just some tweeking yet,,to get the power out of it,,,
Like I say it is getting better....Slawhammer

Cool vid Slaw, do the rear tires grab better facing backwards? Looks like it pushes a bit in the turns with the smaller tires in the front..

I wish my FG tires would rip up the grass like that!! Mine just slick the ground and make it look like a cow licked the grass.

Trip..

yup rear tires backwards...it will grip like crazy..easy to pop wheelies..
with the smaller wheels & tires it sota slides the front around like power turn..
back end drifts cool in loose stuff...turn your fg tire around...
thera female dog on cold asphalt..almost any tire are on cold asphalt...tires are cold as well can't get a grip...the rubber is to hard......That video was about 3/4 opened up..
not much room to run there......We have a big short mowed grass palce we run all the time....We were short for time today to run much...so went to the closet place we had..
I am going to set up a tripod and let the video run...Slawhammer

Hostile AT Tires Mounted Up

Today I got the Hostile AT tires..and some beadlocks....Man those are a real pain
to get mounted up...The baja star wheel ..foam and the tire are about the same size as the
tires on the Friehammer MT.. very close....Rain here today..same for the next 3 days...
The tire compound seems real good and some what soft..should have super grip...
I will have the thing doing crazy wheelies...I will have to weight the front end down....
Enclosed pictures of the tire mounted up.....Slawhammer...
