The old version truck is working out perfect......way....................happier with this one. being able to change gears is a must in RC.smaller motors are more cost effective.....

I just read through this and I am not having much better luck with mine. I have the DDT-7 V2 (not the S) with the 29cc. I had the throttle serve go out on the first tank after break in. King sent me a new one under warranty. The Conqueror Pipe broke at the manifold before I got another tank through it. King didnt have it in stock at the time but sent me a less expensive pipe and credited my account for the difference. Once the pipe was replaced and I had finished that 4th tank, the next week I went to show it to a friend and it was hard to pull the starter and after about 6 pulls the string broke. I ordered another (thinking I had pulled it too far I paid for it), I was on vacation so it took me a few weeks to replace the starter and run it again but this weekend brand new string and it broke on the 8th pull with the truck never firing. I have 2 more starters on the way, guess we will see what happens with these. It sucks cause the truck runs and handles great when it starts.

This is my first large scale so I am comparing this to my previous experiance with a SC8

My replacement truck is the v1. I am having way better luck...however my pipe broke on my last run and they told me once I run it it is no longer under warranty.....so there is 100 plus for a replacement unless I can fix mine. You got lucky on a replacement at no cost. Keep me posted.

Well they sent my this exhaust pipe kit which is a little quieter and probably has a little less performance but the conqueror doesn't have enough support at the pipe and I think that lead to the breakScreenshot 2023-06-20 at 16-30-42 30 DEGREE NORTH DTT-7 Exhaust Pipe Kit (LOSI 5IVE-T)-TDN5908.webp

I'm not a fan of the Conqueror pipe being so loud I'm going to try to find something quieter

How about just get a real pipe and call it a day? There are plenty of pipes that provide real gains rather than noise.
Just curious, whats "not real" about the pipe I posted? Sure its performance is slightly less then the Conqueror it came with but lets face it Im bashing in my back yard. I don't need a pipe that cost 1/4 of the cost of the whole truck. Also other then it being a bit quieter you cant tell a bit of difference in performance

I highly doubt that pipe is giving any significant increase in performance like an olimat, vrc, bartolone, bizeta pipe. Im just curious after all of these issues why not buy a pipe that actually gives you good gains? I had a clone pipe and it was just a noise maker, a tuned for a 2 stroke is probably the most critical for the engine to make any bit of power. Im not picking on anyone im just confused at why bother with pipes that have failed to even stay together.

Can be summed up easily... cheap.

Ok Heres the misunderstanding. The pipe I replaced it with is not the same pipe that broke. In my opinion its a much better design structurally. The chrome pipe I posted above (first off was a free warranty replacement, and they credited my account for the difference, about 60 bucks) 2nd on the chrome pipe there is an solid arm the bolts to the side of the engine giving it 2 bolts at the manifold and one on the side. The pipe it came with the "tuned" conqueror pipe bolted to the manifold but the only other connection was at the near the end of the pipe to a spring meaning the manifold connection had stress evey time the pipe moved causing the weld to break, so again not the same pipe.

This is the replacement it bolts to the side of the motor and at the manifold so theres no flex on the weld joint

That pipe i posted was from king motors rc, was about 70 bucks, is better made, and quieter than the conqueror
Nice......I my try that one if I can't repair mine
It needs a flex coupling so it can move. The chassis flex a bit and having it all solidly mounted + no where for the pipe to flex against the header is why it broke.
Makes sense however we have 2 of these trucks only one having an issue with that pipe

I got my DDT-7 v1 used and have gone through it. Had the broken pipe as well, but tig welded it back together. Finally running, but hard to start. Once going it’s got very little go from take off. Won’t even spin the tires. It has a 38cc 30dn motor and stock 19/58 gearing. Any ideas why it would be such a turtle off the line?

With what little bit I have messed with these I have noticed a ton using 30.5 and smaller. I had one 38 cc and I would say money for something smaller than a free 38. Mine was new out of the box and I under stand there was a bad batch of crank seals in the 38 motors......I didn't keep it long enough to find out if that's what the issue was.....I went with the 29 dnt race version for 129. And didn't look back. Now mine would not spin off the line unless I cranked it side ways to do so. I also loaded the rear diff with 1mill fluid. I will lock it as soon as I can locate a locker.....
