Air filter

In this scenario I can't see a filter making more power. I went with the turtle racing billet air box because I like the way it looks. And if you take apart the 5t 2.0 air box theres actually a velocity stack in there

I could be wrong but that intake seems like it would cut down on air flow. I use the same foam and I'd think better air flow with just a velocity stack and foam.

The stock filter on my 5ive kept falling off. The last time it fell off I was in some very dusty conditions and it completely killed my engine. I put the 5ive away for the season with the intention of rebuilding the engine. That was about 5 years ago. Now I am pulling it out and have a G320RC on order along with an RB Innovations intake box. I decided on the RB over the turtle racing because everything bolts together with the RB whereas the Turtle racing appears to rely on the same "clamp and clip" of the stock setup that already failed me.

The tr set up bolts together, only thing that could clamp on is the actual filter, and if that fails it's more or less your fault for not having it on right.

And just how exactly does one put the stock filter on wrong? Explain that one to me.
Idk your the one claiming you bought one filter over the other because it could fall off. Neither the tr set or the rb set up use a stock filter. The tr set up you have 2 options, the stock baja filter or a clamp on style filter. Neither of which is designed to easily fall apart. I have both style in use, on different RC's neither of which have given issues. You stated you didnt go with tr design because it uses a clip, and clamp of the stock set up, which in the case of a 5ive isnt true. The baja style uses an r clip as a keeper, and the clamp on version uses a hose clamp. So explain to me, how either is similar to the 5ive set up, and how without user error you have a likely chance of either filter coming off the intake? I can agree that the factory 5ive filter set up is less then desired, hence the reason I swapped mine out for something different, but neither the baja, or clamp on filter variant (both of which are highly liked and effective filters) give a lot of room for potential failure, due to broken clips, or fasteners without user error.

The stock 5ive filter cage clamps around the plastic intake that is bolted to the carb and then two small tabs on either side "clip" the two halves together around the filter element. Hence, "clamp and clip".

And maybe YOUR stock filter never gave you an issue, but mine did. It was constantly either falling off or being knocked off. I would be lucky to get through a half a tank of gas before the filter would fall out of it.

I never claimed that my filter fell off of a TR box. I never even had a TR box in the first place. All I said was that I chose the RB box over the TR box because everything bolts together on the RB box.

And yes, with the TR intake box it still uses the same clamping style mounting mechanism, which is still just the two halves of the filter cage clamping over a flange and clipping together unless you use something besides the stock filter. The point being, no matter which route you take with the TR box, the actual filter cage does not bolt to the air box. R clips can fall out or be pulled out, hose clamps can slip, and the stock filter cage definitely isn't secure. Having everything bolted together is the most secure method. That's all.

Maybe work on your reading comprehension before you accuse people of being too dumb to attach an air filter properly.

Nah, I read your just fine, and agree with your assessment of the stock 5ive filter set up, and since you've inferred that inwas calling you stupid, (which I was not) I'll maintain my statement off of what largely amounts to user error. The r clip is not likely to fall out if connected properly, and the hose clamp is even less likely to slide off, especially the way that style is designed. If your feeling stupid that's ok, everyone has their moments.

I find it helps to post up pics with your posts?? showing your issue ??.......
He doesn't have an issue, hes being pissy because I called him out on his bullshit. Had issues with his stock air filter, and said he bought the rb innovations over the tr housing because the tr doesn't have a bolt on filter, to which I pointed out neither version of the tr filter housing lends to a design that would easily come apart, unless there was user error. To which he decided I was calling him stupid. Which i was not. Now hes saying i cant comprehend English, which is funny. But I digress, guess no ones ever had a screw cone out of their rc car.?‍♂️?
I'll also add I stated that the tr system clamps on, before the new guy went on his tirade about how the factory filter is attached...... so be a big boy. Go back and reread from the start. Then go shimmy up a cactus and rotate
