That Meg body looks sweet bud.
Sorry to hear about the back. What did you do?

Did a little bit on the car at the weekend.

New Alloy Servo saver installed and started trimming up the new J&A Gt2 body. Bought myself a dremel kit which makes it easier to finish these bodies.

I popped L3 vertebrae out in the Squat Cage at the gym, chiropractor kindly whacked it back in and whacked a large bill in my hand. Just bit sore and stiff now, but will be back in Gym in the morning lol

Needs to be a dislike button....

Ouch!

I still suffer a bit with my back after a hit and run a few years back but that sounds really painful!

Wow...

It seems my absence and lack of updates goes back further than I thought!

The big car (audi s3) was in need of some love this year, so I've not had the funds over the last few months or the time to get up to much RC running. The odd bit here and there, but nothing more.

The Porsche is now FINALLY running as it should, and the problem was one of those ridiculous stupid things that you overlook - at least I did anyway.

It all came about last week when I bought a set of cheap FG BBSwheels off ebay. I got chatting to the guy ( who is also on here ) and discovered he too had had the same running issue. After all that time, engine swaps, plug and coil changes, numerous carb swaps- it was something as stupid as the fuel lines being the wrong way round with the fuel filter being on the return. Apparently the swb cars sometimes came from the FG factory like this. I however did this all on my own, as I have photos of the build and you can clearly see the pipes are correct before I swapped out the old G2 Zenoah.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The car now runs like a dream and how I would expect it to. Currently just under 1 1/4 turns on the lsn and 1 1/2 on the high. Could go leaner at the top end, but it seems happy here and plenty quick enough. No more lean bog at low engine speed.

At last I can enjoy the car especially as the end of summer is already rapidly approaching

Thank you to all that chipped in with advice previously. I was just a dumbass

Nice!!✔✔

I have a 465mm chassis I'm working on building. I keeping changing my mind though between building the 465 or the Evo 04 lb. I found I can get gt2 body from jaracing for the 465m.
Anyone have a body from them?.

The bodies are good. I bought one a few months back as I was going to use the 993 body as a runner. In the end, I found a brand new spare 964 shell in germany so carried on using this one.

They're a bit stiffer than the Fg bodies, but are a little more brittle on impact. They are a very good copy though ??

As a body to run with, it's ideal. Id also suggest you pay the extra for the trimming service. It'll save you heaps of time ?

The 465 is a great chassis, the only downside is you are limited with bodyshell options. If you like having multiple bodies then I'd suggest the 535mm Evo build

If I had the funds, I'd probably buy a 535 as well, but I can't have that and my Mcd Rally ? no space!!

That Porsche 964 RSR is one of the best and most realistic RCs I've ever seen!
Thanks @Gaffle
It does make a good display piece when it's sat in the room ??
It's getting a lot of use now it's running right. Seems to be getting better the more I run it too ?

Thanks,doza28!!

I spoke to JA owner several times, very nice guy,Shipping is the killer though. I have bought from outside USA before and the killer is always shipping.

The issue is I have: 465evo+535comp/evo chassis,so I can build either. Also have Leopard + sportsline, but I have a Ferrari F40 body that is suppose to be 520 but doesn't really come close to fitting anything I have. So I'm going to assume I need a 510 chassis. I can only find 4wd 510 chassis.
The F40 is uncut/unpainted and has sticker kit and spoiler.
It wasn't cheap as only a few,if that were ever made. There's a sportsline for sale thinking of getting and modding to fit,if possible. It would be the fastest way to get it built. I'm nervous about painting it though. I might sell it for the right price. No room really as it is.

How much is the shipping? I might be able to beat it as I work in logistics. Theyre only 3 miles up the road from me too

@doza28 I'm not a real big on-road guy, but that car just looks fantastic! If you were to take a pic with nothing in the background to belie its actual size, it could easily be mistaken for the real deal!

Love it!
Thanks for the compliments guys. ?

Car is getting a lot of love ?
There is one for sale on ebay Kleinanzeigen at the moment. Same livery. Its still an ecoline chassis but that's how mine started

This was what I was thinking. THe killer part is his wheels, tires and how realistically flush they run with the body... impeccable! This usually makes/breaks any on-road RC in my book. This is an awesome car but if the body fits like >>> THIS <<<, I cringe and wonder what's the use...

@doza28, who makes that 964 shell and what exact gold three-piece wheel/tires are those? Would it fit an FG EVO Comp (newer) chassis? If I were trying to duplicate that car, would I have to buy an FG SWB or do they even make short wheelbase chassis any more?

Thanks again for the kind words. Glad it's not just me that thinks it's a stunner.?

The body is made by FG and was produced back in the mid 90s. The 964 is very rare, but you can find them coming up on ebay kleinanzeigen..
He's one..
https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s...i-hpi-carson-lauterbacher/1177534541-249-8259

They were originally sold as an Ecoline or the then Sportsline chassis with very few aftermarket mods available as it was before the comp and evo chassis existed I believe. I actually have an old FG catalogue from 1995 showing this car. In fact like this car, the whole model range for that year is simply pornographic ?

Alfa155, E30 M3, 190 Evo Mercedes.. the list goes on.

The chassis width is still 390 ish cm like a normal touring car. The difference is the BBS rear wheels which although still 65mm wide, have a staggered fitment. This is what gives the car its stance. PMT still sell a standard BBS front wheel with tyre so you can find these. I've managed to find 3 additional pairs of rears over the last year. Basically if I see them i get them lol.

By buying an ecoline and then the alloy parts, its cost me a small fortune, but it has given me a pretty rare spec of car. I'm not sure if they ever did an Evo chassis in 465mm. The Comp chassis was however produced in the three sizes. They are subtly different I think

I hope this helps.

Doza,
Buddy ol' pal.
We're going to have to get together.
Appreciate the info, maybe you can help me identify some parts. I have a 465 Evo/ comp chassis. I bought it as a Evo. I will post pictz later, when I can- might be a bit though. Although I might have a pic somewhere. You got me excited seeing the car.
Man... You guys get all the good stuff. I hear you on buying the aluminum parts!!!,especially outside usa for me.
I also have the 2001 catalog, absolutely stunning cars and pictures. I've been trying to get other catalogs but something always goes wrong.
I ordered 2 catalogs that were stolen in the mail from UK AND Germany!!.

That sucks.
I hate stuff going missing in the mail. ?

I'll look back through mine tonight and double check what I posted. I currently have 95,97,04 and 09 which covers most models.

Doza28,

I just happened to see some of the previous posts on this thread AND.... guess who owns your 04 Comp now!!.??
I bought most of it anyway.
Talk about coincidence,it's going to be used in 465 or 04lw build.
So you made it to New York,USA.
I'll send you a message at some point.
I guess we were meant to be friend's.?
Cheers mate!!!?

No way?!!
You bought those bits from Renbar??!
Sure ping us a message. Mine is effectively the same as that was, just a swb version.

That was a great car. The memories of driving it made me get another.
Nawty pic ?
Hope it's not too explicit ??52802
