Baja Wont Idle

Mine was the carb isolator that vibrated loose creating an air leak ,symptoms were ,would not idle stable an was very hard to
restart until completetly cooled off!

Hmmm... those are my symptoms, can someone please quickly go over how to check for an air leak, i don't have carb cleaner.

Better get a can, the other way involves a pressure/ vacuum test and block off plates.

Yes WD40 works. I went down a different route with my truck just last week when the idle was high, I stripped carb and isolator off to replace the gaskets anyways as i thought they where bad, found the gasket between isolator and the engine incorrectly fitted. You could strip it down to check for loose bolts or a bad gasket, only 10 mins work.

moron these problems happen to every rig.
check the plug first then check for air leaks. cuz you never told us weather you changed the plug or not

I did this exact thing apart from selling Baja, it wont defeat me, yet.
But as Z says, this for once isn't a Baja issue.

so i changed the plug and put fresh fuel.... and now there is alot of smoke from the pipe.

just needs to be tuned a lil bit. but the plug did the trick right?

well... i am going to head to the park today for a real test... but its idling fine in my backyard, those popping sounds at idling are normal right
oh also i checked for a leak, there is no leak

np, remember, if you have strange issues like this again , first change the plug , then go dive deeper if the issue persists.
