some info i reciently came by.

the older FG F1s came with the zen 23. the newer ones come wiht the zen 26.
alot of your serious racers go back to a 23, thats been ported and polished, matched and maybe even balanced. As noted, a bit higher over all rpm. but to be honest, i think the additonal torque from the larger displacement of the 32mm 26cc zen, will be faster out of the corners and out of the pocket. how often do you get to TOP RPM anyways, most tracks are more technical and have less long top rpm striaght runs to them.

Reed Cages arnt leagal in "Race" i don't think, but perfectly fine for the basher? if you can realy Bash an F1..lol

im still debating. i wont be racing. so the HARM FX-1, Lauderbacher, or FG F1- Comp isnt neccessary or within the budget, but if the price is right for one used, maybe.

so that brings me to the FG Sportsline or back to the Berg F1. considering price, to get going new. and the fact im not gonna be on a "track" every weekend, i just may save the cash and get the Berg. but if the price is right on a used FG, then i may as well go that way.

anyways, its on the hunt. I emailed Tom from Python today about his prices.
ive got 2 quotes for 1300.00 NIB. needing all the goodies. like elecs and body. i think it came with front and rear wings.

i got a price form them already. comparable to the other prices i have gotten so far. gonna be a month or two before i order anything unless i come up with a good price i cant refuse. We' ll see.
Thanx for the link Brian. always appreciate the help!!!!!

I agree Timmahh... I think I'd have a good amount more torque then rpm's. I'm not going to be getting one anytime soon...but I'd love to drive one down the battlefield in a chase car.

www.dynamic.it

or www.raco.co.at/ then go to the berg 1/5s
the bergs are considered 1/5s while the fgs harms and lauterbachers are 1/4s

so some differances. here in the states the racing is directed at 1/4 F1s but anyone wiht a Berg F1 runs the same class i understand.

may be going the FG route due to availability of the Berg F1s. I only know of 2 in the states available, and we ll prolly need 3, plus some parts may be hard to find occasionally without ordering from Raco in Europe.

Are the fg's considered 1/4 scale?

yes they are 960mm long, or about 37 3/4 inches long
the bergs are 880mm i think, or about 34.5 inches long

well that dynamic site is for music, not rc's lol... I found it though
http://www.dynamicracing.it/
that doesn't look too bad. the raco site has better pics. I guess I would have to write and find out how much. I wonder if Carson will/has one as well?

not seen an F1 from Carson or Smartech yet. they may not as its kind of a nitch market.

sorry forgot the racing part.lol glad you didnt get to some Dynamic Porno..lol

there are a few major differances between the berg and the others other than the size. a LHS down state from me has a Dynamic and FG instock, so i may go take a look up close and personal.

I was just reading again and see Nomadio stated the Berg had tons of flex like a bad pan car. I'll never race one here, I just love F1 cars. I'd love an FG but I'd have to mortgage my soul or something

Hey guys,
I'm new to this site, but not to F1's, especially FG's.
I'm up here in Minnesota and race on an old go-kart track weekly with some of the big dogs up here.
I run a FG Sportline F1, and so does my son. My opinion, FWIW, is the FG Sportline is a great platform! If you keep looking you can find one in decent shape for under $1000US. Not counting scams, of course.
The sportline is competetive out of the box, and with a few upgrades can run with the FG comp F1 cars. I know cuz I've done it. Also my son took 3rd at Nats last year with his sportline with a stock motor!

I'll look at the local scene here for used sportlines, Timmahh.

Oh, and a set of tires can last almost all season up here. :)

Hey filo you guy's do any offroad?
I've been up to Northside ( www.northsidesports.com ) but never any off road guy's when I arrive.:(
I love watching the big toy's (F1's) fly around and get an itch everytime I see them. I almost borrowed a set of onroad tires and tried out the off road class - May still do it with my MT for fun. Is there any rules with the off roads? Can you run a pipe or have to remove it?

You can get a pretty good price from fgperfrc for on roads new.

Yep, Northside is where we run both on-road (the shoe) and off road.
As for running off-roads on-road, it is a blast. We usually run last years F1 tires.
It's pretty laid back as far as rules, that is until someone is constantly running away. Then the big dogs running the track will knock them down a notch to keep the playing field mostly level .

If you stop by when we are running (sundays) I'm sure we can figure something out so you can at least try it out. :)

Yep, fgperformancerc are a good bunch of guys! They will get you what you need at a reasonable price.
