In an attempt to get more HP for minimum $. I opted for an ESP Race Ported head to mount on the existing ESP/DDM 34cc.
Zero deposits after a few gallons of VIP 94 w/ Amsoil Dominator. Think I'll stick with this combo. (y)

The kit comes with a new piston, but I decided to just use the current one for now as it seems in perfect condition.

All set, just need 24 hours for the sealant to set and we'll see if this thing starts. :p

Also picked up some RCMAX Beadlocks and green lugnuts for some bling

Just about have the new head broken in. Ported head gives this thing much more low-end punch. Going to need a more aggressive (but not enough to rip t rip up the local park's turf and get banned lol) tread as this thing spins the tires like crazy.

Few minor upgrades, Full Force skid plate.

Full Force high flow fuel lines. These are key as without them my fuel line was so close to the exhaust it melted them.

The T90 has been working well for the past four thirty-minute runs. Knock on wood it stays that way. If it loosens again I'll do what @crucialRC did and install a longer bolt.

*Ownership update*

The first failure in eight months of running this. Steering servo just died during a run, figured a gear or motor went. Under further investigation, a capacitor (transistor or whatever you call it) came loose off the circuit board. First time I've ever seen this happen to a servo before. I was going to solder it back on but as these stock servos are garbage, I figured a good time to upgrade.

Went with an 845WP and Full Force mount. Looks like I'll have to Dremel the mount off the battery box to fit these.

I'm becoming interested in joining the cool kids club. The only issue is that after $1700 I can only tolerate so many necessary upgrades before I'm like wtf. Wondering what people think is a required upgrade from a stock vekta 5.

The latest batch of RTR Vektas are pretty much bulletproof to an extent. Really nothing needs to be upgraded. Also depends on how you plan on driving it.
