Eh, idk how true that holds, were banking on a lot not being right, and as far as I know losi is one of the few platforms that use inserts to set mesh. Ie non issue.
All the other platforms require a spur gear change with a pinion change so you don’t need to mess with inserts for different pinions. Buy an insert with a new pinion or buy a new spur with a new pinion🤷‍♂️. The advantage of the inserts is you know 100% that your gear mesh is right, the advantage of the washers instead is that it’s cheaper.

But yes your right they aren’t needed

Biggest reason I'm against them is the cost. It's ridiculous you "need" to buy an insert to "properly" set mesh. Dbxl doesn't have that, vekta doesn't have it. But because it's a losi, you suddenly need them. Nope not really.

To be fair the dbxl and vekta both need hundreds of dollars in upgrades to be reliable. You can run gallons of gas through a box stock 5ive t and never have an issue lol

While I agree the $17 is too much for glorified washers but after pulling the motor on my Marder a few hundred times over the yrs I welcome a insert to guide me into perfect mesh. Man can't tell you how many times I'd tighten the last engine mount screw all to have it tweak the layshaft gear mesh.

I'm about to pull the motor and start swapping parts over to my g320 and making a basic parts list.

Get her running and figure out what you like and dislike but the most likely upgrades you’ll want to do is Pipe, tlr shock caps, steering servo, shock spring and fluid, diff fluids, chassis braces, tlr castor block, tlr hinge pin braces, 2.0 steering assembly, aluminum diff tower

Add mod bearing inserts for the rear diff.

Not the point, how ever correct. The engine mesh is never an issue. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree on these inserts. I don't believe either of us is wrong really.

Everything from mod is 👍👍

lol we agree really we just have different outcomes to the same view point lol

Right and at $90 why would ya if ya not racing 🤷‍♂️
My personal opinion is that the fs clutch is the best bashing clutch and the mod clutch is the best for race only. If you take your race rig out on the field you don’t really want the mod clutch. They aren’t meant for abuse.

I rekon my ufc clutch has finally bedded in 👍🏻 last couple outings with my reed baja its performance has been outstanding 👏
I have an fs on standby for my losi
Bet they will be the same or very close to👍🏻

Monster how much you looking to get for the body?
I want a black 30N body. New they are $190 I believe but if you could find me a good condition used one I'd trade.

Yup looks like I'll be upgrading this thing into the winter 😲 $300 later and I just ordered the basics to get running. Diff fluid, shock socks, carb, filter, gaskets ect... Chit adds up lol. Gonna upgrade as I break stuff. Which historically, will probably be sooner than later. ;)
