Well some of you may remember that after one or two WOT passes my engine cuts out and dies (rovan 36 baja) last time I thought the plug did the trick but it turns out i was wrong. Any help on this prob would be appreciated. Thx

put gas in it ! J/K sounds like it is starved of fuel , check your HI carb setting , look for dirt in the fuel line , back blow out the fuel filter etc.

@Seandonato73 .....as he said reading the plug without chopping it is pointless. Picture for reference of my plug chop....and you may have a crap carb or a bad air leak...its a clone engine you have a less desirable carb and as it heats up it may be making an air leak. Or since its happening at WOT the carb maybe unable to put the fuel back into the carb it used on the full throttle pulls or you have a pin hole in the fuel lines or something of fuel drawing nature...have you tried to prime the carb again and tried to start it after this? I run clear lines on both sides of the carb to see bubbles20200919_232230.jpg

Tighten all carb screws , use WD40 around the gaskets or starter fluid if it changes speed there is a leak , could also be in the cases ? last thing to check , then call ROVAN !

Im all for companies making a name but I do have an issue with making clone products..i have a chung yang in my redcat and it sucks. So I have a leg to stand on here. Everytime I drive my redcat I get pissed so it sits on a shelf more than I drive it...either ditch the engine or put a walbro carb on it and see where your at

For us to have ANY chance at helping , you gotta give us much more details about how your engine is running (or not). "my engine cuts out and dies" is just too general of a description, were just guys looking at a computer screen and we are not actually there with you. Listening to the tone of your engine rpm's is a big help in diagnosing running issues. First and most important question is right after your engine dies is the plug wet or dry ?

Exactly what he said...video helps too

Does it die or have a flat spot transitioning from low to high throttle or when you let off the throttle and the idle drops.Does the engine just die after you run WOT and come to a stop and does it die as soon as you let go of the trigger or does it come to stop and then stumble and turn off?

It sounds like an air leak ,air leak at the carb isolator can wreak havoc on restarts & tune!
That was my issue ,the isolator had vibrated loose ,as I did not think it would sense it was factory installed ,so
I never checked until I litterelly seen the carb wiggle ,then I pulled it off an installed Loc-tite!

But I agree with Polar bus!....(y)

I would drive it around a bit until it is warm like normal operating temp then try the wd40 trick to see if it has a leak.I hate just tightening stuff because thenm you think its fixed and three weeks later you are still chasing down the cause.I also would try to wiggle the carb a bit while I search with the wd40 just to make sure. The video would be a good start though.I am assuming you have turned up the idle a bit so it doesn't turn off.I would also turn the idle off so it doesn't turn off and as soon as you are done driving around and come to a stop turn it down a bit and see if it cuts off?

The Rovan 36 comes with a Walbro 1107 carb.

the point I'm making is quality over quantity...clone vs real...the real carb i feel will be more reliable and consistent..same problem im having now with my redcat rampage xt...floods when primed more than twice...who knows maybe he has an ethanol contamination issue...

It's a 668 with a different metering system, supposed to give it better mid range fuel metering. Smaller bore then an 1107
Mine came with a 1107. Speaking from experience unless they changed to a different one after I bought mine 2 years a go. It was one of their selling points at the time.
Unless they started using 1107? walbros sight lists the 1191 as the carb for 36cc and up, it specs nearly identical to an 1107. The 1107 is listed as a husqvarna/zenoah carb. There has to be some difference for them to make 2 carbs, with 2 different model numbers. I would also go out on a limb, that either, or are genuine walbro carbs.
