Hey everyone I’m almost done building my Baja but I’m not happy with the way TR one piece brake mount is sitting on the gear plate . It’s a bit off and I’ve tried loosing everything up but it doesn’t seem to sit right . Please take a look and let me know your thoughts
Thanks

does the one piece mount slot fully into the gear plate when both are off the car mate ?
if not then it may just need a file running up the edge of the vertical parts of the gear plate to remove any burrs etc (y),
check everything is snugged down as it should be as well, ie; no strain on any parts when bolted up tight,

I'm gunna say that's a tolerance fit part and it needs to be walked down in a criss cross pattern. By the looks of it you just picked any screw and hammered down

Hey junkie did you really look at the plate or no?

hey I did notice on the stock photo from tr the ring sitting around the bevel gear where the gear plates screws on extends slightly more past the gear plate when installed .the yellow arrow is the sticks photo the red arrow is my photo . I tried shooter screw but it’s sitting tight on the clutch housing
Older photo I’ve since removed the grease from the spur and pinion gear but it seems like everything fits nice and square just the brake mount is off

makes more sense now , look at the third pic mate, the one with the yellow circle,
there must have been a discrepency in sizes between the turtle gear plate and the turtle one piece brake mount, or a burr on the edge of one of the parts,
so that the brake mount didnt quitre fit into the opening of the gear plate,
you can see in the pic mentioned above that you've tightened the gear plate down and bent the brake mount at either side of the vertical,
now you need to remove both and either straighten the brake mount out, or get a fresh brake mount and make sure they fit together before you assemble on the car, even if that means a light filing on the gear plate to remove burrs or small amount of material (y)

thanks i have a new brake mount coming .. I will try assembling the tranny plate , gear mount and brake mount off the car and see how it looks prior to putting on … I did notice some tensions wehere the tranny plate mounts onto tranny .. would it be better to file the the tranny plate hole or the notch on the transmission box

everything will be a tight ish fit mate, only file any areas that need to be filed, you'll have to judge yourself what is too tight and what is acceptable (y),
tbh myself i would have tried to salvage the brake mount , it was just that you can see the bend in it in that yellow circled pic, plus on one of the earlier pics you can see the brake mount has a dent in it where its pushed over the long m4 mounting bolt :)
