The K&N filter suits me very well.
I use him with an Outerwear prefilter.
The filter can be very easily cleaned.
You need to be vigilant that it is completely dry before you go back to oil the filter again.
otherwise water creates small holes in the filter.

Lauterbacher sells complete filter sets for the zenoah engines.

I use one of those filters, but with a TGN (Team GoNads) prefilter.
These are very 'free flowing filters', and many people here don't like them as there's a high risk of dust entering the engine, and doing all sorts of nasties.
Al.

I use the filter in combination with the parts on the picture.
Dust an dirt are no problem at all.

Hi, very nice bug, I like what you have done with the servo tray and got rid of it, very hard to work on the steering servo with out removing the servo tray.

I have a similar project XL beetle, but ended up making it the other way round, I converted my FG beetle pro into an XL elcon as the reliability with the FG drive train is very poor plastic or alloy, and then found out about the radstand chassis from Alu-tec.

I spoke with Siggi when I purchased the chassis from him and he referred me to have a look at your conversion, when I saw your model and write up, I couldn't be leave how similar the conversions were.

Do you know if there are a lot of LWB FG off roaders, because apart from mine and your's I think I saw one more on another foreum but thats about it?

Please if you have a chance and don't mind, if you can check out my profile I have uploaded some pic's on there of my one, let me know what you think.

My one is listed under FG ELCON ALU-TEC BEETLE PRO

Thanks
Michael

Thanks for the complement.
I will also look at your car.
And I have just bought a new Alu-Tec chassis from Siggi.
There are more LWB FG offroaders here in the netherlands.

Yes,,, the throttle and brake linkages must be extended.

Do you have a beetle pro body,,,,,?
Then you turn the roll cage brace (FG 6032/1) from backside to forwards.
This the same lenghte forwards as the extended chassis.

And do you have the monster sideplates?
Then you adjust the side plate for the tank opening.
See the photo above.

That's all you need to adjust.;)
