@Doug @Rcrules becuse the way in which they are cheap is so fiddlesticking annoying. I absolutely lothe planned obsolesence. Our world has become a shitpile and the last thing we need is more throw away plastic garbage. Example. In the MTXL, when you put down 70kg of servo power and attach it to a little plastic stick thats supposed to move the two second biggest wheels in RC, you know that this construction is going to fail. So did whoever has final say on the design document. And you cant just buy the servo saver no no, you have to buy the whole fiddlesticking front end construction sans diff. They do poop like this all the time and the metal replacement is like ten bucks at end user level, and they do make and sell one such item. So why isnt it in the truck from the start? I also want more people in the hobby but this is exactly the kind of poop that scares people off. "can i have for 1200 bucks worth of flimsy plastic truck plx?!" is a line nobody wants to say out loud.

Hear you?? never had an mtxl ......don't know ?‍♂️ for me the only experience with horrizon is my Losi 5b?? yes having to replace loads of parts out the box is BS?
Should not be like that ? I'm sure my losi would have been ok for the most part out the box?? cant say about any other as I do not have the experience with them. But aren't the dbxl and mtxl cut from the same cloth? Chinese with a losi stamp?

Any way you look at it yes. But thrasher is a mega mtxl fanboy. Which is ok. And that's why you'll never dissuade him from either or being nothing but a cheap, entry level, 1/5 scale. Sorry I fell for it too with my dbxl. Now add bigger tires and the same plastic crap and what do you expect? Just be glad that someone took interest in a model that has been discontinued and quality parts are being made for it.

@Doug @Sean Yes the DBXL and MTXL share platform and bits and bobs. Some of the issues which have plagued the DBXL was fixed on the MTXL but a bunch of new issues came bundled with it. All issues that could have been avoided if they werent such cheapskates. The odd thing is that there is alloy parts in the MTXL out of the box. So why save on the servo saver when its such a cheap part? Because you cannot buy that part alone. They sell a whole steering front end construction with every servo saver that breaks until people wisen up and get an alloy part to replace it. It would have been more valuable to the end user to have an alloy servo saver and then perhaps save it somewhere else.

It used to be that the product was king together with the costumer. You made an awesome product with top service and people came in droves and then you made stupid money, which you deserve for your awesome product. But now its all about the money. The product is secondary and often the end user IS the product or part of it. Trickery and manipulation is fair game and it sucks. Its everywhere not just RC. Right now game publishers fight for their right to sell gambling to children. From "loot boxes" or as EA called it "surprice mechanics" to an actual money casino with casino games in GTA5 online. Its rot and the state rattles is saber and make some noise for show and then it supports the corporate filth. .

By careful doug there are 3rd party sites where the little punks play with skins up against their 'real' cash value and on which the skins can be redeemed for FIAT. You may already know this but just a heads up.

yeah, this hobby is really expensive, i live in Canada and my mtxl cost around 2000 just because of tax and shipping. and parts and upgrades are really hard on my debt card lmao

A lot can be done to the MTXL using DBXL upgrades. As much as it sucks to use buggy parts for a monster truck it can be done. Being upgrade parts make all the difference. FID parts are awesome. Been using them in my dbxl-e for a couple years and used that same setup in this MTXL. I am using FID diff housings and bulkheads with dbxl-e all metal CD cups. I use the dbxl-e CD cups in all three diff locations on this MTXL. Also using their CD brake assembly. I just wanted a reliable truck to handle a bit of OBR power and it seems to be ding well. Check out this video I made showing some of the upgrades. Oh and the Detroit upgrades. The CV axles and chassis will be ordered asap lol
