yup, alot of that i did to mine as well the 5755 and 7955 servos, those cool metal servo clamps, and a servo mount for the steering, it just made hooking up the new servo much easier for that steering imo. i didnt have my tank out tho, when i tried the new ddm hi flo lines and plug, and could not get that plug in there, so i used the brass fittings i already had , and 2 of the larger lines from that kit from ddm, and a new alloy gas cap. oh, that velocity stack i got, was a angled one that raises the front end of filter up, makes it much easier to get on and off.

Yeah i also got it a bit cheaper than advertised but i don't think it is fair to dan if we post how much imo. anyway little update after getting 2 tanks through it there were a few things i wanted to do to it to feed my upgrade fever.

these are alot of the same as 1/10 or 1/8 scale but some of the parts are bigger, screws are about the same still:(, none the less i found these easier to work on, i upgraded alot also, once you get your baja fireman, you will see you will do some upgrades but not spend so much time fixing it unless you wreck it, but nothing like a nitro car alot easier in my opinion

Yeah don't get the wrong impression by the pics of my rig apart that i constantly have to work on it. I just ordered some upgradeparts and thought i would get it ready for installation. it took all of 15 min to break down and probably twice that to put it back together. i have found that a cordless drill and 3mm bit make things allot quicker. Also after working on 1/10, 1/8 these are are by far easier.

By having taken your truck apart, and seeing the inner workings, and the frame what's your take on its durability?

The great thing about these rigs are they are an evolution of the original Baja, People like us bashed and broke them to figure out what the weak points were. I am sure that if I were to just drive it around and be mellow everything would be fine but that doesn't sound like fun to me:) Haven't ever owned an RC that didn't break it's all in the driver and what you expose it to. I plan to drive this one through Hell honkin the horn:)

Man do I miss the air control of a nitro 4wd. I was a Savage guy. I had about 4 of them. I really liked how you could easily control front to back pitch with the throttle or brake. No matter how much I try, these 2wd 5th's just won't do it.

That's about all I miss about nitro though.

i do take it a bit easier on mine, haven't really done any large jumps, mostly just rippin around out in the fields, or up and down the road, with a lil bit of gettin it down by a creek bank thru the muddy stuff throwin roosters, lol
thats prolly main reason mines lasting as long with no real breaks. only running issues i ever had, was after i installed the DS axles and hostile boots, i still had that tab on the gear cover, it landed hard nuf on that rear that it jammed against the tab, ripping the boot tip off, kept getting stuck like that, so thats when i did the tab removal mod, and bolt secure of cover mod, i also installed the lower shock spring mounts in alloy that were 25% taller, that in itself raised bottom of shock high nuff to always clear the axles and boots, put a set on fronts as well.

I am done with Nitro, and i will never go back. Thats why Im getting in to 1/5 scale.

Yeah after sitting on a shelf for 2 years I just sold all 3 of mine last week:) I still have some scalers and a rustler but they have been ignored since this thing arrived:)

I sold off 5 of my nitros to get this T1000. I still have an Ofna Blazer SST (9.5 Violator based) that's always been real reliable that I decided to keep. I've got a lot of brushless stuff too that I really like. My neighbors probably really like them too compared to my gassers.

Nitros need a major overhaul IMO to really be something I'd be interested in again. Something like electric start, and some sort of fuel injection or bigger cubes/less finicky, along with cheaper fuel. I liked the power and weight, but that was it.

I just ordered a Zenoah G290RC 28.5cc for my 5B. It just needed more power. Dang expensive hobby this is. lol. Well worth it though. It's still not nearly as expensive as 1:1 cars. My Procharger kit for my GT was $6k.

i used toi have nitros long ago, but this km t1000 rules, and no more nitro crap.

Yeah I agree with you Nitros are junk. I wish I knew about this truck before I even bought a nitro and with nitro fuel going up in price 35-40 bucks a gallon, it isn't even worth it and don't even get me started on glow plugs. I'm sure 1/5 scale has its share of costs but in my opinion it seems like its worth it.

The most diplomatic I can be after the last entry, is that both have their place.
True, nitros are an absolute pain to tune and re-tune with changing environmental conditions, but are fantastic once going - totally love blasting around with my LST2 modded Raminator, with ZR30 Spec2 engine.

I've TiNi gears, alloy shocks, Ti turnbuckles on the front, twin Airtronics 94780M servos for the steering with the MGT servo saver modification - stiffer springs, roll cage ..... Flextek radio box and gear covers .....

I sold my Revo 3.3 to purchase the FG MT, now running the 'Blue Thunder' painted body, with the TS alloy engine, .....
It's an illness we all endure, where able.

The FG still has it's occasional problems, and can cost considerably more to repair, but the control of so much more 'sheer mass' has it's rewards too.

Great.

yah back in the day i had a couple notro cars, one was a sandrail nitro buggy with a os 10 engine, when it run it was fast as heck, took it to wings and things in tulsa one day, the guy tuned it up for me, and told me take it out back to the building with the oval track and run it, i did, had toset the steering to 1/4 turn tho, wasnt used to oval dirt track running on it, then i blasted my way around that track blowing the electrics away that were running at same time, had several guys come up to see buggy on the table, and asked me you arent running that in the tourney are ya? nah just having lil fun after a tuneup, that was a fun day, then there were the cant start the thing at all days, all back when fuel wasnt that pricey and a glow plug wasnt costly either, nowadays, the bottle i got for my airboat dumas swamp boat, was like 30 bucks for that gallon. wow huge diff there. then i got my t1000. big ole honking truck, 29cc engine 2 speed, 60 mph roughly max butthauler.

and a gallon of gas now bout 2.90 and a bottle of oil a few bucks at best, and a 45 to 40 min run each tank, and alot of tanks per gallon. yah, theres no comparison on the fuel costs betweenst the nitro and gasser.

I had 3 Nitro trucks with 2.5 engines I upgraded one of them with a os 21 TM engine, it ran for a bit. then I was tired of of charging the EZ start, so I replaced it with a pull start. after ripping alot of skin off of my finger while trying to start it, and buying glow plug after glow plug for it I was finished with nitro. You are right they are fast when they are tuned correctly. i guess I never really had the patience. anyway i havnt owned a 1/5 scale yet, but I think It would be a great Rc truck to own. I used chainsaws with my dad when I was little, cutting wood, so I know how to work on them, and that you really don't have to tune them:D. I also used them In my Fire academy, and we use them at the Firehouse, and there pretty reliable, any way this thing is pretty much a chainsaw on a frame, with wheels. and its not a small engine that is a pain to tune. again just my opinion.

So back to the matter at hand:) tonight I installed the Hitec 5755 for steering and a Savox 1256TG for throttle and boy what a difference in response and power. I also installed the Full force Hi-flow fuel line kit and it went on really clean, for the price I couldn't have made something cleaner.

We will see how it does on its maiden tour on the track if it dries out like it is supposed to tomorrow but it is Oregon:)

I also have some stickers to apply cause I heard they make it go faster:)

Good choice on servos.
I've defaulted to the Savox for throttle / brake duties as well - 1256TG.
Still thinking of 'finding funds' for a couple of Airtronics 94780M's 'though - excellent as mentioned on my Raminator.
