Took my diff out the other day to change the oil from 1Mil to 300k and while I had it in bits I spotted a problem ?IMG_20191124_110146.jpg
The little bearing on the diff cup had crapped itself, a little disappointing as I wanted to put my rig back together but I took the opportunity to upgrade and the parts are here now??15747982171956236310749692472034.jpg
I will probably pick up where I left off tomorrow evening because I cba now. ??

make sure they go like this (y) or it wont close

Bushings used for a bearing surface are normally porous. They hold the lubricant and allow it to be replenished. A wet lube is normally better for wear then bearing. Once the lube in the bearing is shot its shot. In most industrial applications (think wheel loader, dump truck) all pivot points are steel (chromed normally) on a brass alloy or nylon (generic term here, I cant remember what the plastic is) bushing. You pump them full of grease or they are in some sort of oil bath. They last thousands of hours in some of the hardest environments, so I don't see a down side. When a bearing goes, your done for. Sometimes with no warning. And is almost always a lube related failure.

Update time.. The rcmax tranny case is going back for a refund as it doesn't fit ?.
Which is a real shame as it is alovely looking bit of kitIMG_20191127_180743.jpgIMG_20191127_180725.jpg
