Cant use that over here anyway its 230 volts we got 120. And believe me an 80 watt weller will light up your package just as good as that 100 watt will lol
Depends. I use Novak silver solder on my rc stuff. I use a flux pen. It's a no residue type. I'll take some pics of my stuff when I get home for ya.
thx

question, im prety sure theres different kinds of solder, what solder should i use? also does flux work?
You want solder with a flux core. You want something like this https://www.newark.com/kester-solde...rvLgaAsxAEALw_wcB&CAWELAID=120185550001063496 . This is what we use at work for soldering boards . I'm no help on a Soldering Iron Everything I buy at work is in the range of $600 or so. Personally I would probably buy that Weller that was priced at $125. Weller is a good brand.

Isn't rosin flux? I'm just buying a cheap hobbico one to get buy for now but later down the road I plan on getting a expensive 1. Cuz the solder I'm looking at has rosin core and I found rosin flux so doesn't that mean it has a flux core? Or with a flux core solder do I need flux separately?

The solder I listed is a rosin core flux. Post the solder you're looking at . The solder I posted is easy to solder with .

My opinion is always use flux paste when soldering wire. It helps the solder flow smoothly between every strand of the wire. Also, a flat tip iron is easier to solder with than a pointed tip when soldering wire joints.

I'm just Gunna get a hobbico soldering iron for now (8 bucks 60w lol) then buy a expensive 1 later cuz theres no point in getting a nice 1 now. It has a flat tip btw.

Not for electronics the Flux your using is way to agressive . And way to messy . The solder he listed is what he wants . What you're suggesting is good for plumbing and correct for plumbing .
So do I still need flux on the side?

No just buy what you listed from Amazon .

the flux im using? I never said what flux i was using lol. And by the way, it is flux made for electrical connections.

Ok sorry for the delay in these pics. I'll try not to confuse you too much.... any way this is most of the stuff I use for my rc hobby. So top down first liquid flux I've ever used it's ok. Kinder of messy but leaves no residue.for some reason I didn't get these in order #2 back side of the Novak solder #3 the flux pen I currently use(makes the least mess)#4 front side of the Novak solder.#5 tip cleaner /thinner #6my weller solder station. I don't think they make this model anymore #7-8 progressive RC solder helper. It's great holds all kinds of things. Makes doing connectors a snap.#9 is the solder pen that goes to the weller station. I have a stand with a steel wool type tip cleaner. Cant for the life of me remember where I have my little 40w solder pen... hope this helps a bit.(mind you this has taken years to accumulate)

Nice setup. I think I'm going to go with the hobbico pencil 40w iron for now, is the radio shack solder good? I can't find Novak and likely will b over priced, wanna know for future reference, cuz nobody wants to wait a weak for solder
