You forgot the http://

Looks like fun but longer vid will be better. Get that son of yours to watch you have some fun.:clown:

Not sure how you add a YouTube link into the post, but I know it can be added right into it so all we have to do is click it?

The best I can do is a blank box:

Bigger The Better: Yeah I knew I forgot some thing with that post..Just non think
on my part....I know you can do better than a box..cuz I have seen some of your video's..
That was my very first attempt at ever doing any thing like that..A great step forward
for me to try and do a video..I will practice to get better at it and could use some pointers along the way of making a good video..Thanks for pointing that out to me..
the mistake I made..That is how I learn from other's sharing...
Now this old man is going to have some fun with the firehammer...AKA Slawhammer

New Look For Firehammer

I have not posted here in my project for a long while now..Done many things to the firehammer..I have been in a different forum..Where it all started with my firehammer...
But I still wanted to share with you people also who have helped me with this project...
I gave the firehammer a new look for the new year 2009...Beetle Pro Shell....
Now mind you I am 64 years old and no artist or painter..I have never done a body from the inside out before....I Think It turned out real good..5 different eye popping colours
Looking forward to doing another beetle body...Your comments please....
Enclosed pictures of beetle pro body....AKASlawhammer

truck look for so long..Seems I have always had trucks...I didn't want to loose site of the hobby with this 1/5 scale..so thought time for some thing different.......
Thanks for your comment...I am no painter but had fun doing it..the planing for the different colours...AKASlawhammer

Air Brushed Wheel

Not much going on with my firehammer project at the moment...Nasty weather here today
calling for 6" of snow...got maybe 3 too 4 now.....Was a little bored..so I got out the airbrush ..to get creative...took the old stock firehammer wheels..clean them up real good
with a scotch brite pad...I painted 1 wheel to see how it would look...Think it will work fine with the new beetle pro shell I just painted....Yeah I know paint comes off..But it is cheap
and not much money spent it this time....What ya think?...I took the Fg wheels off...
I was thinking of going slicks for running in vacant shopping center....AKASlawhammer

Painted FireHammer Wheels

Bigger The Better:OH.. I am bad on this..Big Boo Boo..I didn't notice till all done with the paint job on the first wheel...My son noticed it right off....Said "hey pop why did ya paint your 1/8 nitro wheels"..I said "What" Turned over the wheel gave it a second look see..
sure enough 23mm drive hole...I have like 6 sets of different wheels...Son just said" good paint job though..I will use those on my Nemesis.."So I was busy yesterday painting the right wheels.....They still look good on the firehammer mounted up...Guess I need to find 23mm adapters to use the other wheels...To error is only human mistake,,
I just laughed it off as being funny....I Was so excited about trying to be creative..It was total non think...Enclosed pictures of the firehammer wheels...Your Comments Welcome...AKASlawhammer

They came out really nice!

hello slawhammer.

never knew you had your project posted up here.
very entertaining read i must say,it reminded me of my own experience with my own beetle pro fg 4 years ago,i pretty much went through all the fun and games u did.

i must say some very very good ideas you had there with some items,i like the finish product, how is the car running now?
any problems,is the engine running ok?
could you tell me if you know what is the correct oil to fuel ratio for two stroke engines eg zenoah /cy etc, on my oil bottle it says 150ml to 5 liters of fuel,im guessing this would be 25to 1 ratio? or am i wrong?

cheers slaw!

JJ: thanks my friend..I got a different airbrush over a year ago ..never got a chance to try it out...
dc2: My main project is in RCU forum..I found this site about a month after I did RCU forum
Some place Bigger The Better posted so ya could go too that site..I don't know how to do that stuff...Over 30 pages of reading there now..Ok not sure of the ML for measurement..I know there is a chart for that..
The car is in good shape at this time...The engine is a 29CC Billet Head..there is mixed
opinions on this engine...At present time I can not get the brown colour on the spark plug....I am looking a O'Neils 30.5 cc head Kit....a torque monster for engine..
I like the people here in this large scale forum...Thanks for the reply...AKASlawhammer
PS I thought 5 liters was more then a us gal?

cheers s/hammer,yes i agree with you the people on this are very helpfull a few i would like to mention and these fellas were extremly knowlagable and very helpfull were yourself/ bigger the better/mooman/trip/clubin/shiny/crazy beetle/ducky/riff raff/jasrx/and loads more, very nice guys.
it is a lovely hobby, sinse i started it i found this a very helpfull fourm too.

i am in the process myself at the moment of rebuilding /replacing lots of parts on my fg beetle,(you can see my beetle on "beetle pics" at the end..)i am kinda calling my current rebuild as a kinda seasonal service more than anything.
loads of parts should be with me during the week,i already have the car all alloy 90percent,but i must change some broken parts eg-gearplate /large engine mount/elcon spur adaptor and diff cover/new bearings, new fuel tank/new layshaft and pinions, lots more, getting also this week the o neills 27.2cc ported and stroked kit, sean himself recomended me this the best overall choice(mixed opinions too on the choice of kit)

i am also in the middle of painting a bodyshell of mixture of checkered and black, also have a lot of running and videos done with the car in its previous state so overall im well happy with things.

i have to say there is no better more rewarding feeling than rebuilding setting up your own car to your own spec and just to stand back then and admire the way it runs/breaks...

cheers slaw for the project, good to see you have turned that car in to an amazing monster, must look up that thread so with your other stuff.

I just finished reading this topic in it's entireity... All I can say is WOW, 240+ posts!! My vision is a little blurry lol. So how much do you think you have into it so far?

This is a cool truck and it was great watching the transformation of a beat up pile of parts turn into the great looking truck you have now! Good job and my hat is off to you! So many people would have tossed it in the trash and started over, but your patience and perseverance has paid off well! I bet you know ALOT more about your truck now huh?

Great Job!
Trip..

P.S. The easiest way I can think of to add a link to this forum, (such as your youtube video) is to save the web page (or whatever it is that you want to create a link to) save it to your favorites or bookmarks, then click reply on this forum, click bookmarks (find the page you saved) left click it once and drag it into the reply section of the forum. Let go of the mouse button and it will automatically apply the link for you. If you already knew this, I am sorry and disregard my last.. Good luck! Cool truck though!
