New to1/5 Scale..Slawhammer's Project

Good 1 Bigger......Nope all fasthers have been changed....But I did forget about the
drive train parts.......Dutratrax..internal diff gears & dog Bones...Inner & outer drive cups...That's all that is left......I find it cheap for those parts to use than Fg drive parts........I will use Duratrax drive parts till I can no longer buy them.....Slaw
 
Man, that was a chore. I made a top plate for the fh chassis with carbon to mount the tower to. worked out pretty good. I had to use the fg mt arms to clear for the shocks with the mt tower. but had to trim the mt arms to fit the fh bulkhead.

so ends the Firehammer for me. I delivered it about 15 mins ago, deposited money in the bank and have spent half allready on ebay stuff LOL

Looks good Pipe....I may have to use the same MT FG arms to make mine work......
those shocks look good on there..orange springs ..there stiff.......
Nothing new on my up grade as of yet...still waiting for parts......just a game we all

those springs were actually on the mt shocks I took off. I had to bend them in a bit to stay on the retainers. they did work good. now I see how the xtm shocks work out when they arrive. I am building 2 more 5ths now as soon as some parts arrive. And looks like we are going to have brother fg's when I buy that victory pipe... just mine will be a marder beetle
 
You will love that pipe.....The pipe is really programed for a 27.2CC engine....
for all out preformance......It will work well on your 26CC engine.....Slaw
 
I haven't posted here for awhile, Just sold my Hammer so I can focus on the Baja.
This is still the best thread going.. Keep it up Slaw!!!!

well any way what was a firehammer...Still a good project for others to learn from....
Cool lookin Transmitter..........This project will still go on for a bit yet..........
Then not sure what I will do for a diffferent ride......so many to choose from now

Chrome: nice radio! I like my Spektrums and the only problem I have had was because my battery wasn't charged!

Sold the Firehammer? :no:
 
Nothing wrong with a spectrum radio......I know people claim glitching problems....
90% of your so called glitching is form a low battery charge.....minor electrical
interferance......metal to metal rubbing.........
Now I did get out for a short run today..nothing fancy..just about 20 minutes
engine time.....1st gallon of fuel ran thru on engine rebuild.....ehgine is getting better &
better.........weather looks god for Sat. so hope to get a new video posted...Slaw
 
only place I had glitching with any of my spektrums was at this school field. we have a small 1/18 scale track in the bush beside the field and have zero trouble, but all of us have had glitches on the field, except fm radios. no power lines.. it is odd..

I've had this dx3.0 for almost 3 yrs now. I just wish I had more channels is all. I hated Futabas when I started flying helis. Menus were so confusing you needed the manual handy to follow flow charts and understand the codes and terms they used for abbreviations... end point adjustment should be epa...
 
Pipe..yeah lot of it comes from strange signals....megnatic pulse as well.....
super high pitch ring tone will do the same thing...exp: from a clutch bell......
Or some times your transmmier not set correct....for digital servo's..or using anolog servo's.....But most of it is caused by low batteries...TX or in the car.......................
AM Ferquence is all together different......the new way to go is 2.4ghz
With the futaba that was for aircraft...all together different.......But as to my
knowleadge from a rep at Futaba you can now use a stick radio for ground use in the cars & trucks......I am thinking of a stick radio 6 channel my self..........................
I was out again today for a bit of a run..good 30 minures worth.....Ran flawless...
just a great time.......Still early in the day..may get back out later....I have to make some minor adjustment for the rear end..little camber & toe...to get better tracking...
other wise running great.....Engine is real sweet now..........Slaw

I tell ya for a bit there ...I would say it was junk.....But for now it seems to be ok.....
Engine still getting loose...so too early to give a real opinion.........
My opinion is the 27.2cc is a good all around engine....you still can go fast but still
have control of the car......Slaw
 
Nothing new today...I did get out for some run time about 30 minutes....
no video today....Dah seemed to left the camera home...oh well good thing
the batteries were dead in the camera..got them charging now.....

Standing Water

Well same thing....Rain ..Rain..Rain...Been like that for 10 days..still the forecast
next week..Rain.....I make some small run time in the alley way..after I make some adjustments to the car..But that has standing water.....Every place I run my car has
standing water...even where the small mini mall asphalt is ..standing water....
Gues a airboat would be in order to have fun....Enclosed picture of alley way....
this is just out the back door of the house.......I don't worry about neighbor's with the loud exhaust pipe......we have had our issue's with each other about noise...from car
amps ....other things....I tell the to kiss off.....
Looks like good time to rebuild the firehammer......Slaw

sounds like your area stole our weather this year. it's getting cooler at night but we have had such an awesome summer. going out in the next couple days to do some evening on road
 
Hey Pipe my friend.....Hmmm thinking I should get a mini heli to play with in doors....
seeing how real nasty here today...high winds 60+mph rain ....power outages....
Not sure of being on the site for long today.....Lost electrical power for 3 hours once
today.......Things keep going like this..Time for the Rebuild of my car............
Got a hair brain idea....may go brushless....1/10 scale ..seen a couple nice rally cars....
or micro mini..to play with indoors......Just some thoughts here.........Slaw
