Better Idea for you

Well I have been doing research for the last 6 months or so ..as to what causes glitching
in your radio system...There are alot of cause's no matter if still using crystal yet or the new2.4ghz radios..The Number 1 cause...any ideas..yeah you got some I am sure..I checked all radio mfg's and so extra research and found the Number 1 cause is..peak charge on your barrerys..you have a 6 volt 3000 mah but when charged it is more like
7.2 volts not 6 volt..Most servos can't take over 6 volt input..Digital's are always hunting for center..To tight of linkage will cause glitch and burn out your servo..
I have found a 6 volt regulator you can install in your battery box..Some are very pricey
There is a difference what you use also ..what type of 6 volt regulator..I did a research on the regulators as well..The best price and the unit you need is from this site here You will want Model#VR-6.0 You will have to look it up..
www.batteriesamerica.com There $19.95 plus shipping..I have one .They work great..think with shipping
like 27 Bux..I have used this before..when I have used 7.2 voltage 4500mah for my nitro
when charged it is like 8.4 voltage..but with the regulator it is stepped down to 6 volts
Now your servos will perform much better...I just wanted to pass this along for you guys

Steering knuckles Installed

Well the lastest Update on the firehammer..I got the alloy steering knuckles installed..
The rear alloy upper arms will have to wait..Seems when I ordered the arms ..I forgot
to order the adjuster bolt and eye ..that goes where the plastic eye and old upper arm..
were...No big deal..I still have a another mod to do..I did not check the engine mounts yet
to see if they loosened up for the damage of the transfer gear and lay shaft...

the items needed to seal up the air intake on the engine..Enclosed picture..
I will post pictures later of engine...That's 10 bucks for the items... AKASlawhammer:2guns::2guns:

Finished my sealing my flywheel opening in the casing with the same stuff. Works great! Now I just have to put the engine back into place and test out my kill switch.

Hey Ya miss me?Bad storm last sunday came thru here..twisters,up rooted trees

Chassie Mod For Flexing

Ok ..Up Date on Firehammer..I done a chassie mod of flexing..Used 1/8 x1 1/2 x 7 1/2 steel stock..JB Weld..Drilled and used 4 bolts and nuts..I replaced lay shaft and
transfer gears..When rooting in my box of parts I found a small alloy engine mount I for got
I ordered..So looking at the mount I see you can put 4 mm lock nuts in the mount..Cool..
so I changed to that mount..I did a minor mod to the steering knuckles..So now I am
going to put it all together in the morning..I still have to figure out how too keep engine from towards the fuel tank..Enclosed chassie mod..I need to take another picture with the bolts installed..All Replies welcome..AKASlawhammer

Minor Steering Mod

Hey Shiny:All is getting back to normal..Ok..I did a minor Steering Mod..It was suggested
by another member in a different forum to put a metal block where the front brake would
go..to keep from breaking the arm off if hit from impact...Well seeing how I do not have
any metal or even a drill to make holes..I just have a few basic hand tools is all..
I put in 2 -2mm screws to cover the holes..and to act as a rebar also...I used epoxy
putty..Knead it up and fill it in..This is a temp fix for now..It will work until I get a front
brake unit..be some thing for when the snow flys....Oh yeah I needed so metric screws
None in town not even Ace hardware...Yup People say shop local...BS to that..no body
has any thing I need any way..So I ordered on -line..I like these people ..lots of metric
stuff very good prices and shipping.....RTL Fastners

OK this is for :CSP1971...Well you have waited a long time for this like 3 weeks..
The Big Tires are on the firehammer...I spent about 8 hours today ..putting it all back
together...I had to cut the lights off the bumper ..tires were hitting them..Not sure
if have to cut out front fender wells yet..I have to adajust the toe and camber yet
So will do that come morning...all lock tited screws..will cure over night..So with a little
luck I will be able to run maybe 1 tank of fuel this time....Enclosed 3 pictures...

Looking good Slaw! I love the tires! I hate that life gets in the way of the things I want to do. ;)

Madhampster:Not sure why link does not work for you.
CSP1971:Well that cover should work ok..They say marder is the one that 95% of
the FG Parts will fit the firehammer...I am real happy with the way this firehammer is turning out..I still have a few upgrades to do yet..I should be able to get the firehammer out today..I helped the son rebuild his nitro engine..new bearings and sleeve /piston
so we both can go run our trucks...Thanks for your reply..All replies welcome..

OK...Yeah Hee Haw..hot dog..Good News..Had firehammer out for test run...
Only for a 10 minute run..I wanted to get all the gears to mesh in..Only ran 1/4 too 1/2 throttle...But when pulling the trigger quick on acceleration there seems to be some
white smoke good cloud of it..I think I mixed 25:1/gas mix this last time..5oz good synth
motorcycle oil...I will make this next tank 40:1/gas 4oz motorcycle oil...It could be a piston ring..Not sure from orig owner useage..If I do that I will just rebuild the engine..what for about 100 bux..Then the firehammer is all new..Oh less the servo's that is..Otherwise all new parts..SO I am happy with what I have done so far...I have to now check for any loose bolts..OH that stainless post I did for the tranny brace, I did with locking nut held up geat..did not loosen..The screw that goes in the large engine mount.
Was a good 10 minute shake down run...I am really happy at this point...All my work payed off..I will get it out in the morning for 1 full tank run..see how it does...
