UUUMMM... I don't know if I could handle the long version, I had to put my glasses on to finish the SHORT version!!!

Hell, throw an FG chassis pan and some side rails and you HAVE an FG! It all comes down to this, if you are happy then that is all that matters!

As far as the other forum is concerned, if it isn't on here... [No disrespect intended] I guess it isn't important. This forum is like a marriage, if you will, I do not/will not stray! There is always something to look at... Hee Hee...

I'm here for the duration!

Trip..

Trip:no problem on disrespect taken....I was in the other forum with nitro for a long time
one day some said they put gas engines in those Rc units..I said no way..was asked to read in the giant scale cars...Like wow ..real gas engine's..thinking more nitro.....
I said to my son's Some day I will have a 1/5 scale gas RC Unit....Little did I know they were already checking out e-bay and gas Rc car's & trucks....So they found the firehammer
got it for a good price...Guess they wanted to see how well I would like 1/5 scale ..so did not have a lot of money to spend......So I started posting in the other forum like maybe 30 days before I found Large Scale Forum...I like the people her in this LSF forum
so I started a project here as well....Nice people in both forums for suggestions and help..
Only difference is this LSF feels like home....Where I see people tease each other in a friendly way.......As to my project I am real happy with the way it turned out...
It has kept me busy and for the health issue's also...Yup chassie pan & side rails...
Hard way to get a FG....Thanks for the reply..AKASlawhammer

I strayed away after getting really discusted with the child play and member/mod's disrespect and married this one. that was early 07. Once in a blue moon - Last time Slaw told me of his post - I go look at it. Never post anymore. Still a member though since 06. I deleted a bunch of posts in protest when they deleted my posts and kicked a crap load of people out that made that forum what it was.:dots:

Slaw can't say enough of what you've done - Awesome build and it will never be done.:clown:

OK well the next time I see it, I expect to see a small block chevy with a blower in it!!! He He..

Slaw i am new to this forum and i must say you have truly impressed me with this build. I have the same truck and you have given me many ideas with this. I don't know if i can go to the extreme you have but i can always hope and wish to have as much patience and dedication as you!

Bigger The Better: I understand you on you issue's with the other forum....
thanks for the comments on my project...Yes never done..Thought about baja wheels & tires..more selections....
Trip:Years ago I use to drag race..small block was the way to go then
Now drag racing is different ball game...Nox is too much money ..too much to work with
in 1/1 cars & trucks......No2 won't work well with 2 stroke engines..no valves to work with
be like enrichen fuel to much.. burn hole in piston or melt down..to hot.
Thanks for your replies guys..AKASlawhammer

Big dawg...Well I hope you can use the ideas for your firehammer...
If you don't have a engine kill switch yet get one...good radio system with 3 channel
then go from there...Next steel pinion 19tooth....post pictures and ask Questions
Best to you..AKASkawhammer

info

Thanks slaw i have already upgraded the radio. Im ready to order a failsafe and kill switch i lost it over the weekend and crashed into a wall going out of range. I Know you upgraded to the fg hubs but i really didnt want to go that far right now. I picked up a set of those fg wheels and didnt realize how much bigger they actually are i ended up trimming down the square hubs on my grinder i tried to get sum good pics but these were the best i got. If your familiar with the hubs you can really see how much was trimmed after doing slight trimming and opening on the wheel i can happily say that they fit nicely and i have plenty room to tighten up the nut now. I purchased a new set of tires but im not sure if they will fit if they do i will post pics of the new tires in a new thread.

Engine Kill Switch

OK this about the Pico modified kill switch...I made it so I could disconnect it from the
engine..for engine removal or trouble shooting ..engine start...Pictures enclosed...
NOTE:The green lite has to be on to run or start the engine..
If Low battery=Kill engine
TX signal lost= Kill engine
Turn off/Tx. switch=Killengine
Use 3rd channal switch or button=Kill engine

The pig tail wires on the engine are soldered to the spade connectors on the engine kill switch..I then ran the pig tail wires up thu the spark plug grommet..with disconnect
couplers...Ran long wire to pico switch & wired in..Ther is a jr plug style wire on the pico switch that plugs in the the Aux slot on the REC..That's pretty much it ...You will notice,,I made a enclosed case for the kill switch and siaconed shut..Mounted on my radio box...

Nope we have different wheels, I just have holes and you have holes and spokes. I have never seen those before? Did you get them from FG or were they FG compatible. It doesn't matter they look cool, but I was wondering how to find them. If they are cheaper than stock FG tires and wheels I may pick up a set, I am going to need some new ones soon.
