Hey trip..Sorry my friend..but you are disillusioned ..That is no ring..a reflection of the plastic chrome...That's what I thought also so I bought them...And there was no metal ring....Ya it took my 5 hours to make collars by hand ..cuz I had no dermal...
Trip get ahold of the guy ask him about the wheels ..see what he tells ya...

BTB..Well I had no idea...Thanks

AKASlawhammer

Are these truly not FG? Not that I think they are. If not the auction is deceiving and should be reported. You cannot say they are FG and give you non FG items unless it is stated in the auction they are a replica. Fg rims do have a black metal ring I notice these do not. They are also not FG tires.:nono:

Bigger The Better: As some what new to the 1/5 scale when looking for wheels & tires
I knew the Fg Wheels had a band and square drive for hub.....
So then fro that auction ad ..there a fake...Non FG item...No where does it say non Fg
replica....I know more now than I did 5 months ago....That's why important to ask questions..so other people would assist in the opinion....Another reason we need a chat room.....I may have not bought the wheels & tires then...But Now that I have them ..
I will just use them up and be wiser next time to buy...Thanks...AKASlawhammer

Ya I looked a bit closer at the eBay link. You can't word your auction as if an item is something its not. Even if he puts the brand as 1/5 scale and not FG, the description says FG not COPY. Praying on the unexpected or unaware is down right wrong.:nono:

An uninformed customer is a sellers best friend. They are still cool looking tires and wheels.

Bigger The Better..Yup I am a whole lot smarter now...Won't be stung again or fooled
by false advertizing....

Trip: The wheels are cool looking..and I guess for the price was a good deal..
That rubber on those tires ..hard...I think I have 3 tanks ran on those tires..still look new
So for 120$ buxs I got set of 4 ..complete....

Thanks guys for the coments..I will just run these out and see what I will do next...

Thinking about baja wheels & hositle slicks for asphault running..But need some wheel adapters.....What about paddle tires?....You guys got comments on this? AKASkawhammer

Thanks ..Trip...Got some small things want to do yet...Like those stock shocks are junk
so I think I am going to use FG Shocks all the way around..Why not... just about converted to a Fg now away.....I just have to hold off for now and see how tax's go....
I can run the firehammer the way it is nowwith out doing any thing else to it...
But like Bigger The Better says..your never done....seems like always want to make
things better for the RC Unit...AKASlawhammer

dc..they look good..Those shocks ..but the shipping will kill me..another 60$Buxs...
I am not cheap to pay for a good product....It's the shipping...

Buy buy a lot of items from DDM...and other supplier's
I think O'Neail has some better engine's...Just my opinion...Every one thinks ya got to have a ESP engine.....Plenty of engine builder's out there..Not just ESP...
Thanks for the reply..AKASlawhammer

Csp1971..Hey my friend ..been long time..yes My firehammer has taken on a new
transfermation...It was in very bad shape when I got it...Thank you for the complement on the beetle shell..first time painting on the inside of the shell forme..I am pleased with how it all came together.....Yeah those dingle berrys are cool looking.....I also seen Trip had a pair on his unit.......That would be cool every one with a beetle shell get those dingle berrys....then we can have a "Dingle Berry Club"right here in LSF Forum...
Thanks for the reply..AKASlawhammer

dc..I got the gear plate and spur carrier form a LSF Member,,Hellya
I was looking for a gear plate and had been waiting like a month from danial's pit stop
in aus...Hellya said he had 1 for sale...so I bought both Gear Plate & spur carrier..
I never did ask where he git them from...But more than likely Danial's pit stop...
My whole gear train is solid...weak link will be the internal diff pin's......
My supr carrier is different than a FG carrier..I think,,I know the diff gear is...
I would have to ask Hellya on that.....I have to use firehammer gears...Pinion.spur,transfer & diff....Other wise change all out to Fg stuff...
I am impressed with Elon helico gears..off set cut gears are better anyway...
For what I would like to do yet to the firehammer will cost another 2,000$
Yhanks for asking my friend....AKASlawhammer

i was looking at the complete elcon set up for around 650 euro with all helical gears, looks real well alright but a lot of $$

my drivetrain now is all solid now too nothing else on the car needed,if you check out my rebuild thread you will see whats coming up next.

we both have a lot of money spent on them lol

any tips for stoping engine from moving and ruining gear mesh apart from having to retighten screws every ten mins runtime lol

dc..my alloy mount I put in fiber lock nuts..small mount & large mount..
plus I used Red lock tite....I am not worried about movement any more...I was at first
but they never moved from doing that..I got my alloy mounts from Powerslideracing
in Aus...But my mounts are different..there not for FG..Cuz I have a CY engine,,,
The clutch cases are different.......AKASlawhammer

I finally read this thread and now am going to rip apart my Firehammer. I have the buggy. It's just being used for on road right now with fg on road tires. It's the same wheelbase as my bud's fg porsche so we have an even battle, except his motor is a lay down like my semi. I will use it off road once in a while, to lend out to get more people involved. So I want to bullit proof a few things like this thread has shown...

thanks for filling a few hours with a good read. it's snowing again here so I might as well rip it apart and do some free mods ;) ... am going to tackle the shocks first though and the motor screening (allready did that to my Redcat with metal window screens)

DC... There is a notch cut out of the Zen clutch housing (where the large motor mount attaches) the CY case does not have this notch.

Trip..
