Teamchrome..all sounds great...

Kwakr..Bolt it right up..just make sure you check you squish so ya don't damage
a piston or seaze...But you should cut at the piston groove.. .0002 thousands of a inch
and now nore then .0002 thousands below the ring groove...This will help prevent
a seazed piston...the top edge of the piston expands so fast when heated up..
Check DDM those kits come in 2 bolt or 4 bolt and depends on what crank you use..
you have to get cooling head..and the topend kit...cooling head also comes both 2 bolt & 4 bolt
..Like I said before Dark Soul claims 4.25 HP...Hope that helps....I do a lot of research on Rc items
lot of reading...checking out lots of stuff......Slawhammer.........

I wonder how come its makes more power....hehe...i do read a lot too..but i see the sell the marine cylinders as well....i thought you needed the marine bottom end as well....interesting....wonder how it would compare to a 27.2 top end....

Kwakr...To my understanding by the boat guys..they do alot of porting...to both the
case and marine heads....The marine head has more material in them and better inner wall
plating..The boat case's are different design to be used in boats...
Not sure about 27.2 top end...That would be my next choice to use......
Only way we can use the marine head as car guys is with the dark soul cooling head..
The boat guys use a water jacket with a water pump...
Look at some of the boat sites..............Slawhammer

i have the 27.2 kit in my monster truck (haven't run it yet) but my fg baja has the 4 bolt version....so im curious about this now...
but i read this and it doesn't say anything about g270 engine, or rather be able to fit..i wonder....

It should fit your case..send DDM a e-mail ask Brad...
inform him what you would like to do ..and go from there...Slawhammer
PS.. the lower case is a 4 bolt,,should not matter to what top end you use..

WOW!!!
Roger your getting good at this stuff..
Its cool to see someone grow in this hobby and pass it on to others like you have.. Great job.
This is the best thread, I think alot of new guys should check this thread out.

That's what is is all about..SHARING information...
let me know what goes on with your quest...
And for a bit of exrta info..that marine cylinder is a Zen..
you will want to use a CY piston...it is better than the Zen piston..
so you will need a CY 34 mm piston kit..plus the wrist pin bearing for the CY piston..
In the kit you get ..piston,clips,wrist pin..think wrist pin washers

Teamchrome..Thanks for the vote of confindance in me..I try to do my best
and get all the facts ..before making a post....Cuz some one will call ya out for
proof.....Does that mean I move up from a green horn?
Thanks my friend....I love this hobby and my firehammer....Slawhammer

Teamchrome..Glad you could use so of the info for your firehammer...
Yeah ..This all I live for is this hobby..every day...If I have helped 2 or 3 people
with this project,,that makes it all worth while....Slawhammer

That's some real nice machine work they put into that setup.
The build is simple, and Fast Eddies vids make it real easy.
Enjoy..
I know I like pics of new stuff and progress on someones stuff.. Looks great.
Chuck...

Slaw, that cooling head is awesome! Can't wait for you to get it all together and some video of it running.

Thanks guys...Now on close inspection..I see I need to match the Marine Cylinder to
the Zenoah case...Even tho the cylinder is zenoah...Just some minor grinding and polishing
for better air/fuel transfer flow....Maybe clean up thr intake & exhaust & polish...
Little work on the eyebrows and polish...This is all good...I have done all this before
with motorcycle engines...I am not changing the time ports at all..or making any changes to the piston...When you modify the piston ..that will change the timing...
so if ya screw it up...You now have a paper weight for your desk.....
So I am just going to use a 28mm solid crank for this build.....the 30mm stroker crank would require more work and milling tha cylinder to get the correct squish...
I am just cleaning all the rough spots ..to make it all smooth fit....
Any suggestions or advice would be helpful....Fun part is doing it your self...

Sealents

Bigger The Better...As you may know almost all the lower case's are rough from the casting
...Maybe so on being done or looking for some thing different.....But this give's me some thing to do..As I am matickulas for finished products bought for quality....
So as I wait for some small items to arrive ..yet today or SAT...
I thought I would share what I like to use as sealant's.
I like the Red & Blue Locktite in stick form..not messy to use...I like the permatex #2
non hardening sealant..resists gas,grease.oils.and temp range over 400*
I don't think the lower case will get that hot there...And last is top coat nail clear..
I use that on screw heads..If the screw brake loose it will crack..and turn white..
easy way to keep a check on the screw heads.........
This is what I like to use to ..Every body has there own idea's to what they like..
