You and your damn surprises!!! :clown:

Awesome, can't wait to see this. Just when I thought your 800+ reply thread is starting to slow, you throw another upgrade on!

Yes... my friend ..I am full of suprise's for the firehammer project...
I know that 2 spd should be fun.......I checked it over today ..and it needs some
new bearings..plus the gears are pretty well worn......That will be on hold for a couple weeks yet......Have to work with what I have for now and get the firehammer in good running order first.........70* degree's here now ..so I will be out soon....Slawhammer

Alloy Fg Lower Arms

Oh Yeah another goodie for the firehammer..As Bigger the better says more BLING...
Well I have noticed some flexing in the rear lower arms...so I bid on some FG lower arms
I won the bid...So that should make for a better rear end now....Only thing is the shock tower is still plastic....Might not change that ......Well I did get the firehammer out this last
friday...had some small problems with it as to running..and I did not pay attention to the weather.........I got sun stroked real bad....dehydrated...was sick for 2 days...
so have not had a chance to get on the inner net.....I must have drank about 4 gal of water by now......to day i am feeling better...........................
Ok as to the firehammer...I put in a new grommet in the fuel tank..new black neoprime
line...It would fire up and quit...did this for about 5 minutes....so I rechecked the fuel line in the grommet....some how it was pinched..the line seems pretty soft as well
could have collapsed as well...so changed it out to yellow line...It fire up..then went full
wot...like a air leak would have...I adjusted the needles..but nothing would help..
said screw this......done for the day...that ways on Friday when i got sick....I was using a wt 688 carb.......So here it is Monday....I switched out carbs...installed a with wt771
carb....This carb has NO Choke..has bigger internal jets.....I took it out early in the morning...while the weather was about 65 degree's out..got it to fire up....
Made some minor adjustments...Ran 1 tank of fuel...still some minor adjustments to get
the nice brown color on the spark plug yet.......So now on the next rain day..I am going
to change out the rear lower arms....to the Alloy FG arms.......
I will keep ya posted on this Go-Ped ADA top end head kit..So far seems to be ok...

Slaw, those lower arms are kind of different. Cool looking, but what's with the threaded part with the nut on it? I've never seen anything like that before. What is it for?

Trip..to my understanding the allen capscrew with the lock nut is to fine adjust
the eye hole to the chassie for the rose joint if off a a 1mm....or so...I don't know think it would cause a stress point...
the small oval hole is for the stablizer link...which I have also....it was suggested if running off road the rear stablizer is pretty much worthless.....on cement or asphalt the stablizer is fine to use....Maybe I am wrong on that cap screw..but I remember reading some thing a while back.....Maybe Bigger might know .....Slawhammer
PS The arms are to fit a FG Monster & Stadem Trucks.....

Thanks Bigger....I remember that link now...it was so could be used on a couple
different models......Yup I will get some to that to drink when I go out next days above 80
degree's out....total non think on my part about getting dehydrated....good reminder
for all of us in the hot sun.......Slawhammer

I took the firehammer out today about noon ..about 70 t0 75 out..looks like rain headed this way..I feel it....I had a good run another full tank of fuel.....It was a pig to get started
Made a couple minor needle adjustments....As to the ADA Top end kit seems to be getting
better right along..I now have 1 full gallon of fuel ran thu the engine...Should be real good
after second gallon of fuel.......I just checked long range weather forcast for where I live..Bummer....Rain the rest of the week....Wed to Fri..Not sure of the week end...
I will check that on thur............So far I am well pleased with this ADA top End kit...
was a sad deal on the marine cylinder with dark soul cooling head....I read some where people have had great luck using them and other's like my self not so good....Lot of
money to pay out and then have problems.....I will keep ya posted more on the ADA Head Kit..........So today was a flawless good time running the firehammer......
as to the rain being here shortly ..now is a good time to check all nuts, bolts screws again.....I do that for to get ready for the next outing......Slawhammer
I do that after every time I run the firehammer....

Hey Trip... Yeah I think there's a song in your neck of the woods....
"I Got My Mo Jo Workin"......Well my mojo engine seems to be doing great....
Little fussy on start up..other wise lookin good......Rain Day here so checking over the
the firehammer........waiting on parts I ordered for the 2 speed....Have to get a ball park
idea of how fast this is stock.....Just came in the mail cheap GPS..so will attach
that to the wing to get a idea for speed...If I get 35mph Thats ok by me...
Faster it goes..more damage if hit some thing.....got to get it weighed...heavy SOB
more tha I am to lift by doc's orders....Hell I just sit it down and roll it on the wheelie
bar wheel....like a wheel barrow....or I will have to get a dog lease and drag it...
Heeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaa all is good my friend......Slawhammer

I understand dehydrated. I work outside and first day detailing I forgot to drink water. laid me up for a couple days all cramped and stuff. and I did the vehicle in my driveway so no excuse hehe

the thread that just seems to live on. you never stop man

Hey Pipe my friend....I use to detail cars & trucks years back...along with airbrush work
Evening work...but that was after my main job of wrenching and engine builds......
Good to hear from ya....Yup I don't leave the house now with out some thing to drink...
if going to be gone more tha a hour ..I will take a cooler with cold water...Slawhammer

No GPS readings yet...been raining the last 3 days...looks like rain for the next 3 days as well...I got the cheap Garmin e-trex gps...you can get them for about 50 bucks on e-bay
I think some place back in this thread Teanchrome posted a picture of one...If not I will
post up a picture.....Slawhammer

Baja Dirt Buster Tires

I got some new skins for the front wheels today....Baja Dirt Buster Tire's...
figured this would be a good combo in dirt & grass with the rear Hostile AT Tires....
I hope to get out some time sunday..if get a break in the weather...rain..rain..rain...
I did get out for a bit today...in between the rain showers.....
And Bigger once I get this engine dialed in..I will do a GPS run to see what I get with
stock gearing.....Than again with the 2 spd set up.....I am waiting on parts to rebuild the 2 spd......Enclosed picture of the baja front tires...Slawhammer

I can't wait to see what the GPS registers. I would like one of those GoPro onboard cameras sometime. The videos of those things are great.

Ribbed tires look great, let me know how they hook.

Hey Csp... I hope to get out some time ..maybe early..see if raining or not...
maybe a short vid of those front tire's in action....maybe even a gsp reading
I still need to fine tune it in yet...The engine keeps getting stronger...
I am thinking about 35 mph with the stock gearing...But now could squeeze a little more
since I went with smaller wheel's & Tires....Any way I am not looking for speed
I want to be able to have good power..but yet have control & handling....
So far I have been pleased with all the up grades I made....see how this engine goes..
If not I will builg up a race ported 27.2 cc 4 bolt engine....
I will let ya know how those front tired hook up....Slawhammer

Garmin GSP

Hey Bigger The Better...Here is a Picture of the cheap Garmin GSP
so you have a idea what it look's like....Slawhammer
