Hey Bigger is that on your firehammer?I have all Fg parts now for my firehammer...
so things mount up differnt that stock parts on the firehammer...(All alloy parts...)
I have....the main difference is 2 mm to 4 mm...as not too allow alingement correctly
...It will be mounted later or I will sell the 2 spd....Slawhammer
 
Well Bigger..when I get my 2 spd installed you will have another picture for your collection..........

So what can I say nothing new for updates..on my car.........Pissing rain ..yeah I got rain here again or better yet still....sure hampers with running the car.....This keeps up
I guess I will do a complete tear down and chassie swap......I have been holding off
as I am still getting bits & bobs together for the rebuild of items needed.......

I guess for now I will just hang loose and hope for the best with the weather.......................Slawhammer....
 
We Finlay got some rain here. Its either none or a crap load.:)
Hope you can get back out there before your rain is snow. Man, you guy's would have feeeeet of snow.:lol:
 
As time goes on and so does the aging of a person....I do not like snow any more....
I livied I Mn & Wis for years...I do not miss the bitter zub zero weather and knee deep
snow.....Not to say you can have fun in the snow with sking..snow shoeing..snowmobiling
eve to go ice fishing.......But for me those days are only happy thoughts...Slawhammer
 
Yah yes a break in the weather....I did get out for a short run..but not to be with out
a minor problem...the alloy rear risers are great..to keep the upper A-Arm away from
the spur gear....there was slop in camber to the max....even being in the upper mount
hole.....The Fg std red case shocks are so wimppy for the spring.....I had to jack up
the per load with a space of 1 1/2"....I have yet to run this now...It is so stiff..not much
movement...Guess that's what it takes....Figure if want some soft action in the rear
I will have too use 4 shocks....for a little bounce.....or to be in slow motion effect..
soaking up the energy of the up & down motion....Still may get back out today.....

I wish the HPI Baja shocks would fit on these things, those are great shocks. I give up on my Firehammer shocks. I'm stuck with crap.
 
Baja shocks are way too long. the dtx shocks are a joke. I got cen genesis shocks to fit but still pretty long. I had to shorten the front shock ends even. I was going to try lst shocks but they would never fit the front without extending the top mount position.

I just picked up a set of used fg shocks
 
The Fg Shocks seem to work pretty well ..as to they don't leak to bad..just a little...
springs are wimmpy..(silver) on color is any way.....Your right the dtx are sad...
desent springs..is about all........I read some place piggy back losi shocks work......

that bearing place is awesome. in Ohio. got 10 of each bearing for clutch and layshaft shipped to my door for under $30.

put my back out a week ago and still in pain so not doing much. I have to polish a jeep in about 3 hrs, and doing a black bmw tomorrow. that'll about kill me for the rest of the week. go back to graveyards friday again... so I am just sitting waiting for parts to arrive to fix these things up. I need to sell a car soon. running out of room in here fast
 
There are quite alot of bearing place's with deals...I use www.vxbbearing.com
They seem to have a good slection of bearings at a good price....
You know how upgrades go....$50 bucks here $50 bucks there even more....
Yeah I could spend another thousand easy.....I quite counting dollars..I just get what
I want for the project......If I have to set a limit on the money spent then it no longer
becomes a fun hobby..to do and have fun with.....Your going to spend the money any way
for the 1/5 scale stuff..or get out of the hobby....slawhammer

I've got these too and there very good, I just got the wheel bearings and i think they were only £8 or something silly...good bearings...
 
Super...as to the wheel bearings...I can get those local for .99 cents each...
the other bearings I would have to send away for....Slawhammer

Some deals are great..But as you know Vat Tax & shipping are the killers....
It is the same for me ..when I order from over sea's...cuz suppliers in the USA
don't have what you need in there stock.....Like I am not waiting 30 days for
items to appear back in stock.........Guess What.....Another pissing raindy here.....
hard thunder storms ..2" inch's in 30 minutes time............Just the old waiting game
