Had to order a better light kit for the stang. this has the working brake light that gets brighter when brakes applied. I need 6 reds for the back to look right

Rear end is off, motor is out. I changed the lower ball ends to the metal ones. takes a bit of loktite to keep them from turning. almost wondering if I shouldn't have stayed plastic but we'll see how it goes. I might see if I can fit a loknut. I added a loknut to the droop screw allready as I could turn it by hand
 
That is a sharp car, I can't wait to see it painted!

Good thing the throttle servo is marked "Servo" I was wondering what it was! :lol:

In all seriousness, it is a really sharp setup! It looks pretty similar to an FG setup, I wonder if you could convert it to 4wd?
 
Those servos will be coming out and 2 hitec digis going in...
I got the bling arm and rod ends on the back, 50k in the dif and made my ghetto side guards. $5 worth of channel and still have a big chunk for something else...

Now the motor gets the kill switch and put back in. Then I attack the front some.. I will do the shocks last when I get it all worked out... I should also get to masking the body and spraying some paint soon

to go 4wd would probably be a big change. for the cost of the fg 4wd conversion I can just buy a Nutech Rally rtr

can't do shelf queens. I was filling the shocks in the afternoon and got called into work. 60wt still feels thick. I just got home. pretty tired and we have a bash meet in a parking lot today, so it won't get a maiden voyage today. I'll have to finish it tonight

I swear it looked like dif fluid I poured out of the shocks

oh and the dif case is same width and length as an fg dif. I haven't tried the internals yet. you would need the dif case and end cap but it's a nicely sealed dif... even the screws have o rings. the end cap screws to the housing then the gear screws to the end cap. end cap is o ring sealed. there's a lot of meat in them. I'll take a pic of a new case when I go to change the TB2 over. I might just pull the semi dif as well so I can try the gears
 
The rims actually don't look as bad now on the car.

I'll add the decals in a bit... now it's time to install a kill switch and put the motor back in.

after a couple decals it looks good enough to run for me. I will find some chrome chunk of something for the gas cap... the sticker was cut in half so turfed it.

Pip, have you seen Kents (killer rc) new light controller? its PERFECT man.

small size. head light on/off and bright/dim. tail light with brake light function AND BLINKERs as well as running lights! all for a cool 59.00 USD.

I ll have one here in a week or so to start working with finially getting some lights on the rig. would be PERFECT for a scale Muscle Car. you need to tear apart a mini Ipod with video and install a steareo system with onboard Video. lol

pipe how the hell could i of missed this thread, well went right threw the thread to see all that you have done to it man she looks sweet as hell now for the grand final the video of course ,oh put the fg up against it that would be nice lol neck and neck drag race lol

That mustang is so sweet im thinking of making one if the demand is there. would you have any ideas that you would like to see
 
Wow Kent has a really nice light kit. I have a V2 kill switch to go in too. dam. I'll have to work on the front decals though. man are they cheezy looking to me. I might just take the exacto and cut out the horse and take the rest off. maybe glue some mesh in the bottom grill.

Ok, it's all back together now, just have to get the electronics setup. I'd also like to try some different springs as these are too long, especially the front. I have the adjusters backed right off to the caps... and an odd thing is the spring retainer... you have to remove the shock bottom to get the spacer off. I just removed the bottom totally to work on them and installed before I put the shocks back on the car.

I opened the radio box and the rx is there but no battery. am going to make a battery tray across the right side body mounts and toss a 6k 2s lipo. it's kinda big for my little stuff, so might as well

I ordered
057634 8mil , 2pcs left thread, with 4 spacers included OD 8mm ID 5mm 3mm thick. these fit the lower and upper arms...

057633 are 8mill , 2pcs left thread, 2pcs right thread, 5mill holes in the balls with 4 included standoffs that accept a 3mil bolt.
these were going on the tie rods but I needed 6mil.. I got 2 packages too so I guess these will get used on the semi for the arm ends and such, and for the tb2. semi takes right thread, tb2 takes left... well more goodies to work with

057632 are 4mil , 4pcs right thread.
I got these for the rod off the servo, but... need right and left thread... I will eventually use these but I have to make a rod myself now
 
I got things setup. It's ready to rumble. The nicest surprise was turning on this new radio. 2.4 ghz 3 ch... has a bice blue backlit display, 14 model memory, super easy to see and program...

I want to order more rx's now and sell off my cheap 2.4 I use for the electric rc's.

I used a 6k 2s maxamps lipo for the servos, and a Turnigy bec. the bec has a 4 led power meter built in which is nice and the lights are bright. I'll take a short video later.

I was up super late trying to get the dining room table cleared so the girls could eat dinner on it again... go figure they were sitting watching a movie eating dinner. all the complaining I heard was BS... well I'll make them sit wand watch ufc tonight as payback LOL

We lost another bash spot it seems. cars were torched in the lot and police have it closed off... back to the college lot again I guess for next time. Getting to the point I have to go back to the go kart track and work out a rental deal me thinks

I bought a challenger from largescale rc, then traded the car to a bud locally. now I have a mustang to compete. I am a Dodge muscle guy, but have always like the Mustang, Cougars and T-Birds...

I didn't spend a lot of time painting, obviously, as I wanted to see how the body holds up. I was worried it would be like another brand body I had but it has taken the abuse of moving around, falling over and being kicked while working with no damage. My Subaru body cracked when I picked it up LOL
