You might use one layer of kevlar and one layer of fiberglas. Kevlar is stronger than fiberglas and even stronger than carbon. You right to put the layers from the inside. After that you can lightly sand the outside with 400grit sandpaper and cover it in primer before painting. For painting I suggest a 2k poly utethane paint and for primer you can use an epoxy primer. Stick with the primer and the paint to the same brand. I mostly use Sigma (which is a very good paintbrand here in the Netherlands)Thanks Mr U ,
I didn't make a mold , I covered the forming block , direct ( nosecone ) and chassis (flip side ) .
I used 2 layers (160 gr/m2 ) and ,you are right ,it is thin. I 'll use 2 more layers ,inside.
