Certainly is a big chunk of machine you have there !
Should fly with the Taylor in there , But sadly I think we are back to our usual wet cold summer weather now.
Been nipping out to test run my cars in between downpours .

yeh its a heavy chunk of rc for sure dunc ,
and yep, rain again, i'm east of you and its raining on and off here ,

stripped a bit more of the car today, also had a few more parts show up an all (y),
had a few more stuck screws as well, two of which i had to drill out,
twas successful so no real drama (y):D,

continued to strip the vekta down, got to this below then hit a snag,

the two bolts on each for the front knuckles to uprights,
well the metal threaded inserts just spun in the knuckle,
i didnt use loctite on these when i first built it cos saw a maybe issue later on if/when i needed to take em apart,

had a think and the only way to get the stubs out was to cut the plastic and replace em, heat wouldnt work cos that would have just made the issue worse,
so cut em apart and ordered the alloy versions of both the uprights and knuckles (y).

was gonna stop there but thought i'd better make sure the rear axle and front diff would come apart as well,
axle and diff came apart easy thankfully,
had another 3 stuck screws that i had to drill out as well on the main chassis parts,
kraken screws really do have weak heads, they strip out so easily,
every screw is being replace with titanium, already had the kit waiting in my toolbox,
also now i know where not to use loctite, even blue loctite seems to get the screws stuck in the kraken alloy,

partly built back up (y),
loads of vertigo parts, slipper clutch delete, titanium bolts ,
a thorough clean and re grease etc,
alloy uprights and knuckles also fitted,
oh, and also fitted the heavy duty rear drive shaft,
pics aint the best, not sure whats going on with my camera, sometimes they're good and sometimes bad, might be the light or sommat i've done ,

built the rear axle back up again, cleaned , greased etc,
and added vertigo lower link bracket doodads as well (y),

then refitted axle back into the car,
didnt have much time today so just did as much as i could ,

managed to find a bit of time to get a bit more done (y)(y),

also gonna try a taylor rc kill switch with this one,,
heard some good things about this switch, basic relay based switch but works with signal loss, low battery, transmitter switch etc,
plus no toggle switches to set up , plug n play(y),

What wheels are you going with ? I still to this day would love to try some trepadors on my vekta.
i have the stock kraken wheel/ tyres. but also a set of brp super spikes with adapters as well (y),
weirdly you saying about trepadors i have a set of those as well that i started to put together yesterday,
i got them to use on a different build, but may use them on the vekta as well,
they will be trepador tyres on vekta rims,

Nice I run the taylor wheels but there only good on flat areas definitely like to see what you prefer since those wheels will do better on different terrain. Probably be more fun also.

i still aint got the trepadors mounted , i got some alloy outer beadlocs and was just gonna us plastic inner ones,
