Uh your making me think here @dougstar..... let's see my daughter will be 3 here in a few weeks and I bought it about a year may be two before she came along so 4 or 5 years I've had it. Since she was born I haven't got to run much as I used to. Yeah I guess it's been rather good to be for the most part. First time I'm doing a major tear down. Had to replace 2 diff case's. Lots of drive pins, CV boots, fricken sway bar links about every other run. But yeah as far as major stuff it's been decent.

4-5 yrs jeez. ?? I've had my baj for only a year an a half an I already hate it ?????
 
Believe me I wouldnt buy or reccomend buying a dbxl again. The platform sucks. The shocks are junk. It jumps like a brick. (With out the 5ive t shock mod) And most of the upgrade parts are more expensive then a 5ive b or out of stock. I really think its saving grace has been me having kids. It just doesn't get used as heavy. That's gonna change here soon. My daughter is really showing interest in my rc stuff so who knows.

Hmmmm then why not get a new 5th scale sometime and keep the DB as a spare rc or give it to ur daughter? I'd give it to ur daughter if she wants it so u can get a 5ive or a Baja

Iv done just that this week? sell of a load of unsed unwanted gear?
I was big into tropical fish tanks for a good 7-9 years or so, listed all of them on gumtree.(Sold to the man with the yella hat?) its gonna help fund some new rig bits + my life is loads easier??

So here it is. I think it's a home made job. carb bolts through the inner holes. The outter ones don't go to anything. Kinda wanna get shorter bolts and toss everything back together to see how different it runs.? guess that's what I get for not knowing what I was looking at lol

I think that those were universal ,some had a hex for the carb screw on some heads that it screwed to!
 
Well any way I look at it the engine has never given me any poop so I guess it didnt hurt it any. Just never seen anything like that.

Soooooo @dougstar is a really bad influence. Ordered those chassis braces and diff oil and a tr 5ive t airfilter set up with hpi 5b filter (I got the blue one cuz it was $47 not $69) so now I think I have everything I'm gonna replace. Unless the front or rear diffs are muffed up.

Thoughts..... got 500k diff oil for the center diff. Gotta be a little better then a locker... right? Running 125k in the center right now and still have a good bit of tire ballooning (front) going on under acceleration.

Try 500k first because a locker will out more strain on other parts, so if you still don't like it then maybe try a locker
