Vesla Big Bore Trans Upgrade

Looking to go either a Taylor RC 35V2 Reed or a Taylor RC 50GT for a Christmas present to myself. No matter which motor i go with i want a Big Bore Trans for near bulletproof performance.

The question is which one to piece together
1. Taylor RC Big Bore w/Taylor & Blackbone Baja gears
2. Kraken RC Big Bore w/ Kraken Hardened Gear Set
3. Kraken RC HD w/Taylor & Blackbone Baja gears

Has anyone gone the Kraken RC Big Bore route using the kraken gears? I have read the the Kraken HD version with Taylor layshaft, idler and Blackbone Baja gears works well.

$$ is always a concern but at this expense a few $$ difference is not noticed IMO. Thanks for any input

I have a 50 in mine with kraken Hd gears in diff and trans with Taylor HD idler. Layshaft and drive gears are Blackbone. Trans case is Taylor.

@crucialRC has a big bore vesla, i think he had the kraken gears and it didn't last long. I'm sure he'll chime in to help point you in the right direction.

I have it all in a box. Haven’t put it together yet. Busy summer so far.

I hope it’ll hold together from my Taylor 50.

Same set up as gazoo, still running the kraken hd idler gear, it wasn't out when I got the hd set, holding up so far but only 2 full tanks run on it. Trying to be easy on it ... but the 50gt is a menace to hold back.

I watched Crucials YT video. He is/was using the Kraken HD Trans Case but i can't remember the internal gears. He smoked that pretty quick

Meyer's 2 Stroke RC Garage uses the Kraken HD Trans Case, Taylor idler and Layshaft, Blackbone Baja gears but i can't find what the internal gears are. He had a Taylor 35 with no issues and went to a Taylor 71 with no trans issues but smoked a flew clutches.

I read a little more on the Taylor BB Trans Case and the 3 piece vs the Kraken BB 2 piece has me almost sold just due to maintenance.

Depends how old the build is, there was no optional internal gears when released, then kraken made hd trans and diff gears, then taylor made a hd idler gear ... the ilder gear is tiny compared to a baja and baja case not compatible so far

True. I just started researching and seeing who is using what with good or bad success.

I am not seeing a Drive pinion or Diff gear upgrade from Taylor (save for the Idler) so to use his trans i am researching if the Kraken Hardened BB gears would fit his case.

If you use Taylor trans case then you would get the kraken HD gears. You will also need Taylor HD idler gear. He sells the Kraken gears too so you can get it all in one place.
