Custom 70cc engine build

I will ask cart shop owner when they get back from ohio races, but for the time being on your end, start to track down the flywheel drive cup for a briggs 5hp based methanol race cart motor. they are started with a 12vt starter motor hand held drive unit. the cart boys on methanol need the higher rpm startup to fire them motors up.. It is not that large of a unit. stay away from that ez start rovan type crap as it will come apart while running and break your case up. !

I'm not sure if that will work tho because that might be too big diameter. Cuz my flywheel is very small, so I need to find a pretty small one for it to work

Also, is this the starter cup your talking about? Briggs-497598-Starter.webp
If so, question, what drill attachment am I supposed to use with this? I see it's for a pull start but I'm not there yet, I'm trying to use a drill and you know.

That is the starter cup ,but they are kind of big ,I was going to suggest something like that ,an just rap a rope
around it ,we use to do that when are honda engine starter unit would break!

Unfortunately no i didn't have time today to mess with removing that rounded nut becuase I was helping my dad with installing new shocks on our winter beater altima. Was a female dog to say the least, uninstalling the old blown shock was easy, except for removing the rusty ass bolts, those were really hard to crack open. But installing sucked, first the top hat bolts weren't lining up cuz it was rotated wrong from factory (which we learned 2 hrs later) then when we got that fixed, spent a long time finding a lost clip, then when we were torquing everything down, the damn torque wrench broke (one I rented) so we bought a second one, that broke first try aswell, then returned them both and got a rented third one and it finally did the job. Then our poopy Amazon fender liner (original one was totally missing, alot like other things on the car cuz the original owner was a careless loser) wasn't lining up, which we solved by modding it to fit, then went for a test drive at 9 pm and all was well. Finally. Which left me no time for the Baja. I did end up buying the new nut tho, so I just have to remove the old one now ?m
