Yeah I'm just not sure anymore about his content. He HAS to know most Rovan metals just bend and their engines don't last. This could be terrible for first time RC owners. Rovan should be for people who wants to get into the hobby who doesn't have the money to get top shelf stuff otherwise why not pedal losi or vekta. Heck even 30dn has dependable stuff. Rovan in my opinion really only has good plastics and possibly even rebuild kits are half way decent.
 
Wow..feeling the love for botajellybelly ? but only being in this addiction for 3 yrs now and I totally understand about Rovan now after I’ve spent so much and they have not been at all good with customer service on ANYTHING I’ve tried to get help with and that was only if they would even email me back...but I couldn’t afford a new Rovan let alone a Losi and while I have regrets...buying it still isn’t one of them...it’s all I could afford and it got me hooked...I only own 1 1/5 scale and I’m slowly replacing just about everything I’ve bought from them with the good parts...it was just what I had to do to get started and would still buy another (not new) if the price was really good...maybe I’m a sucker...Im just glad to be a part of the hobby by having one and honestly there are much worse things I could be spending my time and money on...just wish I had a crew to run with close to my corn belt living ass ?
 
Yeah I got into the hobby thanks to Rovan’s 380$ Baja, and it helped me deciding about keep getting into more big scale expensive models (Losi dbxle, the xmaxx, baja rey and maybe a 5T in a future)
I can say that if it wasnt for that super cheap rovan baja Id have never spent almost the 2 grands that a 5T costs in my country...

I actually never got why people worry about that. I've seen people have way more fun with their POS then I ever had with any of my nitros. This is why I went and bought a stampede. I love bashing it agenst walls
 
I first seen the 5ive t on rc sparks ( now he's a joke) idk how many years ago. Never gave it a second thought after seeing the price AND i don't have a place to race.

Wow there's a 5th scale track a few miles from my house... Well i went that Saturday to check it out.
These guys were racing losi 5t and rollcages on wheels? with batterys. When i asked about rovan they ALL said stay away from them.
Weak parts and piss poor fitment were the reasons given.
I don't need some slick mouth piece on youtube
Telling me how great something is.
The bottajell rovan f5 racing video is proof of that 4wd bigger motor getting spanked by 2wd 26cc cars was enough to steer clear of that car too?
 
Idk, been I to rc most my life. Gave rovan/king motors a thought till i realized they were clones. Ended up with the dbxl. Think inhave $600.00 for it used. Had less issues with that then 90% of rovan owners. Engine never gave any fits, and once i upgraded the cv shafts, and loctite all the drive pins in, life was good. Idc how cheap a rovan is, watched too many guys spend more then what the real deal cost in "needed upgrades," and parts to fix weak links. Sadly it's a chicken shite salad with under fungus on top for most newbies to 1/5 scale. They shop solely based on price, being used onto cheap 1/8 and 1/10, not understanding that you can get a high quality small scale for a few hundred bucks. Just doesn't work in 1/5 scale.

My first baja was a used hpi complete for $400USD next I bought for $280USD
and now they look like thisIMG_20201126_193901_937.jpg
So....... there is no need to peddle rovan when you can have this
