Took her out today. Damn field was a mess. Clumps of grass and early dew hadn't burned off yet. I was itching to get out before the thunderstorms crept thru.

Good run and tuning time then out of nowhere she shuts down. See the bearing out of the bell carrier???‍♂️

Packed up everything and back to the house to investigate ?

Carrier bearing was toast.
20200822_142720.jpg
And part of the carrier was cut out by the wobble of the pinion? The reverse thread nut was loose. I contacted ddm to see if the offer a new carrier but I'm doubtful. I really think I can save the carrier and just knock the burr off where it contacts the bearing.

I ordered some replacement bearings from ebay.

is that the T90 transmission ?‍♂️ carrier not sell loose?
Not on the ddm site. I haven't check krakenrc.com site yet but they usually don't have much in stock
Damn that sucks and do you have any idea why this might have happened?
Rev thread nut was loose.

Man that sucks, hope you can get it fixed up.
Really think it shouldn't be too bad. I ordered the bearings and they are coming from KY so shouldn't take long. I think im just gonna knock the burr off the carrier and put the new bearing in. Just a PITA to pull the t90 trans??

All finished up with putting her back together??

New bearings came in today
20200826_172147.jpg
Used retaining compound to keep the bearing where its supposed to be.
20200826_172235.jpg
New and old
20200826_172620.jpg
Used a large socket to tap the bearing in
20200826_173440.jpg20200826_173537.jpg20200826_174914.jpg
Reverse thread nut cleaned with carb cleaner and loctited real good. I don't see it backing off again?? I only used 1 free spacer instead of the 2 that is supplied by Kraken to line the gears up. I had used 2 without even checking the 1st time which caused a slight misalignment of the gears.

That pipe is looking nice and blued. Letting the loctite setup now and trying to make time to get her out befor hurricane Laura remnants make it thru here.
