Sounds the most logical ?Me personally I'd bank it and wait. Theres bound to be a few kinks that need worked out. They in my experience tend to take cash to fix. Just my 2 cents

What is the arrow pointing at I see a white dot . What is it ? Are there more parts that we aren't seeing . Ya gotta give the dog the bone if ya want him to eat . Becuase I'm making a Custom 2 price adjustable flywheel that is very similar to Adjustable cam gears were u can loosen the bolts and adjust timing.

I'm not sure . I know there are some parts we aren't seeing right ? If your saying you want to put one slot in your fly wheel . Don't it will unbalance it . You can modify yours but you need to make sure it's balanced so what ever you remove needs to be removed on the other side (opposite). So no those to pieces of cardboard are draft templates for the new flywheel. I will be making a whole new flywheel not modifying a current one, I know I will need to get it balanced. Also that flywheel that I posted was a timing gear from a 1:1 engine and it was just to show the kind of slot I'm talking about. I think the machine shops should be able to do it but obviously I'll ask ?. Would 6061 alu work for a Flywheel or is it too soft? I think 7075 would be Overkill but niceI'm not sure . Look up local machine shops in your area ,I'm sure there are quite a few . Call around and talk to them and see if any of them may not mind doing some custom machining . Take your flywheel to them and explain what you want to do . They can probably help you. Most shops can generate the files they may need if you work with them .
How would it be expensive? I don't want to get a flywheel then mod it because they already have magnets in them.I like over kill .
You do realize a 1 off flywheel is going to be expensive as hell right ? You would be better off finding a flywheel that fits your crank and then modifying it .
Believe me, nobody sets up a alx like I am doing. I only bought the crankcase from ALX for the alx 71 cc that was specially made by them and was set up for 98 pump gas, they are not using E85 or a cdi like me. I am not aware of, even after countless hours of serching,, any perrson trying to do this (not bragging) so that's why I'm having me specific issues. So back to the Flywheel, I think I could find another flywheel that I could modify, but I already have the meterial, measurements, and know exactly what I want, so I don't know how it would cost a lot if I know what I'm tryna do. I just need sum one to cut the circle out of the aluminum and slot it.You are asking someone to design and make a part for you that is expensive . Magnets can be removed and the flywheel can be re-balanced . Or I have a feeling there are flywheels designed for your engine with out magnets maybe . You're probably not the first to design your engine set up the way it is.
Are there any Engine specific forums for your engine ? What your going though is so bizzare and there are other folks out there with your engine. It's like your inventing the wheel and we know it has already been invented . I'm sure others have already done what you're trying to do .

Ok, here's photos.Z, the only way you are going to successfully slot mod the flywheel to allow adjust ability is to use a mill machine and a "rotary table" . I do have a mini mill, but I don't have a rotary table. I realize you have your heart set on a adjustable flywheel but this task is going to be VERY complex, and your heavily modifying a component that is precision balanced as new, and will be spinning at upwards of 13,000 rpm's . I tried finding pics of the case configuration and the ignition sensor and both those sites SUCK for additional detailed pics. Can you post a pic of both the sensor, the flywheel and the mag side opening of the cases ? I honestly think you could come up with an adjustable bracket for the sensor. I'm not trying to kick your idea to the curb, and I applaud you for thinking out of the box but just trying to shed some light on potential serious cause and effect issues. "Custom" can be very gratifying, and the flip side , very frustrating and expensive. Try to keep things simple and feasible as possible for high probability of success.
