No reason why you can't own and run 1/5 scale without dropping several k on it. People tend to be very defensive when it comes to their hobbies, and why not? You spent a lot of money on it. But to suggest that something is crap just because it didn't meet your standards is just silly. China parts and clone cars is what makes the hobby affordable and available to the masses. Whatever gets more people into the hobby is a good thing.Funny how your tune changed when milo responded brian. Must of not been a typical rc enthusiast comment I guess. And to put it point blank I took out a pension loan to fun my 5ive t 2.0 and if I can't afford name brand for the truck at the moment then it will sit till I can afford it. Sorry I guess I'm talking out of my ass and have no bearing on the cost to own these rigs as I have about 8k plus wrapped into 2 trucks
Yeah thats not a chance most people wanna take.I had a couple that ran reliably and a couple that blew up.
That’s a fair point, but not one for me. You clearly have the aptitude to troubleshoot, strip and build a motor. Not everyone has those skills or ability. To each their own. The cheap parts got me into 1/5 scales, and I built my HPI Baja, DBXL and 5ive from bits. It cost me a lot less in the long run and I had fun learning and building everything myself. Sure, some clone parts were crap, but I saved lot of money in the long run with the cheaper clone stuff. Eventually, you replace the crap stuff with the quality made stuff, so in the end IMO everyone wins when it comes to manufacturers (clone or not). Just saying in my personal experience, it was worth it buying the cheaper clone motors. I had a couple that ran reliably and a couple that blew up. Just comes with the territory. Putting too much money into the hobby and taking it too seriously is what would kill it for me.
I also like tearing down and building motors, I just don't like the part in which the clones don't run reliably and then I need to tear it down. That’s a fair point, but not one for me. You clearly have the aptitude to troubleshoot, strip and build a motor. Not everyone has those skills or ability.
What a feking idiot, I cannot put into words how upset that makes me. The worst part is that he couldnt feking learn from one he wreked feking FOUR, including an OBR pro mod, I mean seriously how feking dumb do you need to run without a filter in the first place. All had wrecked top ends because he was running without an air filter.
