DIY Powder Coating

So I think I got price gouged when I got my baja dragster chassis powder coated so I figured I would give it a go myself. I will need to PC an aluminum front bumper for the baja dragster and some odds and end parts. I ordered the Eastwood PCS-250 starter kit(Kit) and Jegs PC table top oven. I think the oven is big enough for most my RC needs. Wish me luck??

Ya for $121 thats cheap( oh wait $191 for the gun + stuff so $300+ ) ! it is a messy process however , good luck man , the paint is fairley low cost as well ! $12/Lb or so

It comes with gloss black. Which works for me cause that's the color I want to do my new bumper I ordered

It works good I use the eastwood gun and powder and I bought a full size used electric over for 75 dollars....I ve done alot over automotive parts and had very good results

Make sure to mask the screw holes. You don't want build up in them or you'll be doing some drilling.

I remember watching Orange County Choppers and them sending parts out for PC and always complaining about having to drill out screw holes and tap the threads because they would forget to ask them.

Yeah that would've been cool for the shop I used to say but nope he charged me shop minimum of $150. I have him every piece of raw aluminum I could find? Still was too much.

You gotta bake it. I use a small oven
They even have the wrinkle finish. Check this one out I did a while back

Sand blasting your parts is "crucial" ha see what I did their. And handling the parts with gloves. Any oil or grease on them, even from your fingers can make the powder coat not stick at all or flake easily.
