I never considered working on them. Getting underneath has to be a chore. Think about this though, blowing tires like you do now would be a thing of the past! That alone might save you enough $$$ to consider bashing one.1/5 for me is big enough ?? 1/4 or a primal MT would start getting too heavy to lift onto a bench? but what ever dose it for you ??

If you don't mind sharing, I've been interested for some time where you worked. We used to manufacture them. Our 1/4 scale Grand National of ours weighed in at 25 lbs. 4 feet long and 2 feet wide roughly. I never understood when the 1/5 scales took off they always said the 1/4 scales were too big. I got it to fit sidways in the backseat of my VW rabbit. So I didn't see an issue. Maybe just me is all?
Very cool! If you don't mind me asking, what were you charging for them? Did you do 100% custom or parts share from other models? I think speed cost and size of tracks is main reasons 1/5 is the more popular scale but since the last time I drooled over them motors got a lot bigger! We used to manufacture them. I'm not sure if they were true 1/4 scale but the Roof Chopper tube sand rails used baja parts. He was/is a member here.I've always wanted a 1/4 scale ? but I was young and now price is probably crazy along with sourcing a rig and parts..my point exactlyhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/293252177062

roof chopper rails are 1/5 scale mate,
i own a shorty roof chopper shorty rail, all parts are baja except the tank which is off an fg for the shorty version![]()

It was just for the cage, not a complete rig. Needed everything else to run.I've never seen in person but that don't sound too expensive. The pic I posted he wanted $350 + $95 shipping. Some additional add ons if I wanted.
