Depends if you’ve got the space and wallet to run one. I couldn’t have one or a Raminator because of where I live, but I’m sure there’s a few guys in the states or in the countryside in the UK who could.

I thought that 1/4 scale stuff was custom hand built from scratch, with a lot of time and money ploughed in. Bigger might be better but it’s also bigger cost and hassle.

Thats my 5 pence.

1/5 for me is big enough ?? 1/4 or a primal MT would start getting too heavy to lift onto a bench? but what ever dose it for you ??
I never considered working on them. Getting underneath has to be a chore. Think about this though, blowing tires like you do now would be a thing of the past! That alone might save you enough $$$ to consider bashing one. :p

Nope ill stick 1/5 parts are everywhere easy to work on and just run better treads for 34cc +??

We used to manufacture them. Our 1/4 scale Grand National of ours weighed in at 25 lbs. 4 feet long and 2 feet wide roughly. I never understood when the 1/5 scales took off they always said the 1/4 scales were too big. I got it to fit sidways in the backseat of my VW rabbit. So I didn't see an issue. Maybe just me is all?

1/4 scale cars have been around for a long time mate,
back in 1990-91 i had a bycmo bmw 1/4 scale which was quite big, but it wernt massivley heavy,
bycmo was , if i remember right the first large scale rc car, also if i remember this right the company was spanish ,
cam with a mixture of belt drive and chain drive and diff internals were different to the norm, or what were used to now in 1/5 scale,
also had a kwasaki branded 23 engine, i still have some parts of it , diff, few drive parts, main chassis etc, but most was used on other projects over the years,
wish i still had it as a complete car tbh,
1/4 scale aint true scale anyways, all scales are there or thereabouts really,
feck i'm old :ROFLMAO:

If you don't mind sharing, I've been interested for some time where you worked.

Very cool! If you don't mind me asking, what were you charging for them? Did you do 100% custom or parts share from other models? I think speed cost and size of tracks is main reasons 1/5 is the more popular scale but since the last time I drooled over them motors got a lot bigger!

roof chopper rails are 1/5 scale mate (y),
i own a shorty roof chopper shorty rail, all parts are baja except the tank which is off an fg for the shorty version (y)

Very cool. I thought he had some bigger options too but could be wrong. I messaged with him a few yrs ago about a sand drag build. I thought this one he sent me a pick of was a 1/4 scale or close.

Roof chopper did a long wheel base version. Not sure if it was quarter scale but it was longer then a standard baja. poopy pic but you get the idea

Recently where was a roof chopper cage for sale in the UK, sold for like $800 ?

I've never seen in person but that don't sound too expensive. The pic I posted he wanted $350 + $95 shipping. Some additional add ons if I wanted.
