might want to stay away from the even newer 3c.its a great radio.works great, very light.don't know why they switched the positions of the throttle/steering trims.the only problem it has its too small a footing making it very unstable.tips way too easily.

No issues with Dan. I've made several purchases with him. I only had 2 problems with things I purchased from him. 1) I bought a new replacement body from him that was a bit scuffed up. He discounted it which was good enough for me. 2) The bearing shaft on my roto-start-like plate wore out and he doesn't sell replacement parts. That's not his fault. I just went back to pull-start.

My buggy with the 2-speed and 30.5cc engine has been great. Only issues are one of the shocks leak and getting the exhaust pipe to seal on the engine. I've had it for 2 years now. Motor runs like a champ. The 2-speed (which I have fully exposed to the elements) keeps it's tune. I can't comment on the quality of the arms because I replaced them with RPM arms so that I could dye them pink. I taco'd the front upper plate, but straightened it out. I have the original thin one. The new cars come with beefy plates. The brake pin broke once. I replaced it with an HPI one. My brake pads wore down. I flipped them upside down and was back in business. The rear wheels rounded out at the drive nut. The KM wheels 2 years ago had no metal around the drive. And last, the fuel tube broke at the tanks rubber penetration. $2 later, that was fixed. I find all this just typical RC issues, other than the cheap wheels. I plan on buy ing another.....from Dan, just to have a pair of them.

Here's mine before I starting getting it dirty.

When I've gone to the track, the HPI guys were breaking stuff and having issues. That's not saying they are worse, but it is saying they are no better. Well, today, I think you get more for your money with KM. You would have to beef up an HPI 5b V2.0 to be as fast or as tough as a KSRC-002. Even the transmitter is nicer with the KM in my opinion, though I don't care to use either of the stock transmitters.

I bought a 30.5 5b off of this eBay dude, Dan. First out of the box, the shocks were bound up, the gas cap didn't vent, and the pipe was bent and not sealed on motor. After a tank of fuel with proper break in, motor lost all compression. So I was sent a replacement( already been run) engine and pipe. So far after 52 minutes of warm up and break in, motor stops, won't idle, nothing. I cleaned carb, adj needles, adj linkage, new plug, nothing. GARBAGE. TRASH. DON'T BUY KING MOTOR. So "Dan" said I can't help you, no warranty, it would cost me money if I help you. I don't care if your not happy and your baja is broken (it's new). You can buy parts off of me, but otherwise, no luck, piss off. Don't buy off of this dude, don't buy KM. DON'T. I have a 560.00 doorstop now. I'd like to take it and shove it up the guys arse that sold me that crapper. KING MOTOR=piss poor quality. KING MOTOR= piss poor customer service. Don't buy one. BUY AN HPI. Or set the money that you will spend on the KM on fire, it's the same thing.
Hey sorry about your situation, have you consider selling your baja? If you do let me know.

I traded my trail finder 2 for my KM from my friend. He got it from Dan and used it for two years with no problems at all. I tore it down and only found a few things that need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. The only "quality control" issue was there was a front spring on the rear shock.

I would sell it bro, but I was soooo pissed at the investment, I ran it over with a bobcat. Kinda regret it.........

You sound like you have anger problems!! I bet you pissed dan off and that is why he didnt want to help you any more.
You also had two different engines from him and messed them both up. I bet you didnt even mix the fuel right and that is why they both got messed up!

I bought from dan also and i have had my km for over a year. After changing the carb and alittle to much locktite on some of the screws i have had no major issuse with my baja.

I been dealing with Dan personally been in his warehouse and is an awesome dude. I really can't see him being a d^ck in any way.

I've heard of just as many problems with an HPI Baja. I bought a KM roller. Installed my own motor, (a new Zenoah) and my own servos. These are the weak points with the KM that make it seem cheap. Get a Zenoah, they are owned by Husqvarna. Better quality and support, and run smooth. After installing,(2nd pull the motor started). All plastics will break, even on an HPI. No problems here.

A KM T1000A got me into 1/5 scale...I took it down to near kit form before even fueling it. Checked, loctited, refilled shocks with silicone, refilled diff with heavier silicone, greased Trans gears, greased dogbones, plasti dipped servos, ballooned rx, etc, etc. Only issue I had turned out to be the carb having some metal shavings in it. I had already gotten a replacement carb from Dan within 2 days of emailing him. So, feel a little guilty after rebuilding the original carb and seeing the problem. I kept it as a spare and even ended up trying to keep some good karma by passing it on to a guy that needed it for his HPI 5SC. I ended up with such a strong kit, I have convinced several others to buy KMs. Mine was tuned just right and was just a beast to drive. From day one I beat it like it owed me money and was never disappointed. It still lives on and runs like a banshee with a buddy of mine who has REALLY put it through it's paces. I have since owned HPIs and will say, out of the box, I was much more impressed with what you get from a KM. I understand a lot of the issues people have with them being clones, but the next time you're running your KM, HPI, Losi, etc...take a look over your kit, your tx/rx, parts, etc and let me know where it's made.
