cheers mate just wait till xmas day ive got a real nice couple of upgrades coming then mate more carbon bits and something else which is going to change the look of the whole car stay tuned

Very nice Ren,good to know about the alloy iso block,i was going to order one, won't bother now. :)
Have you ran the stock 23 yet? How does it compare?

cheers mate no ive not ran the stock 23cc zen yet but i have used them in the past lol there my favorite engine cheap they rev very high and pull well also cheap to fix,,,with the bolt on mods ive fitted i think its going to be good fun,,,my seals came today for the 23cc oddie so thats nearly done just a rings needed now,,but im going to be using the stock zen for the next few runs to see how it goes very soon im interested in seeing if it can hit over 21000 rpm's i know the oddie 23cc will the red race helps it spool up faster and the ecu on map 15 is going to screem

not much going on the tv tonight and i thought id start the 23cc oddie's rebuild bearings are perfect with no play or signs of wear so ive given them a good flush out with petrol and reoiled them with 2 stroke oil,,,

seals fitted and bottom ends sorted i made sure to oil the seals before refitting the crank and due to the bottom end being oddified and ported the copper gasket never fitted right and over laped the porting so dr dremel sorted that out now its perfect with no over lap of ians great porting,,

im suprised how much work goes into his modded engines it not just a head kit but a complete full mod engine which is why he can get 6hp out of a 23cc ive changed the piston pin and needle bearing for new ones and again oiled all parts,,

also fitted a new 0.7mm ring and red locktighted the 4 head bolts i didnt do the 4 lower case bearing yet as ive got to remove these to refit the red race kit,,turning the engine over by hand its now nice and tight with full compresion again im not going to bother with the zero drag seal this time as i think there a waste of time and once they wear the engine sucks in air and leaks oil which i think was the main problem i had,,

once this is refitted to the bmw after ive treid the stock zen im going to play about with the stock engine im going to try a few things like knife edging the conrod and polishing the inner casings and exhaust port,,it may even get sent to ian oddie for him to play with and means it wont need to be race legal he can go all out on the thing

after having a quick read up on porting and modding g230 zens im leaving the rod well alone as i read its not a good idea so its staying stock untill i speak to oddie hes the man about getting good reliable power from porting these engines so im leaving it to the pro

ok xmas has come early for me my wife brought me a xmas pressie and me being me managed to get it before xmas as normal,,,but then i just could not wait for this one and after a hour begging she gave in and let me have it ha ha what a top wife

any way back to my pressie its a mielke side power pipe and its minter than a pack of polo's and fits just perfect and changes the whole look of my car,,its not been started yet as it was dark by the time it got fitted but if it sounds half as good as it looks im happy

now ive got a few quid tied up in this build so thought it was about time for a car alarm lol so ive made a nice little carbon bracket and mounted a old clifford alarm light as my kill switch led and fitted another engine stop button in a place easy to reach

thats the xmas mods done im a happy little boy hurry up xmas now its more carbon time

I wanted the samba 7 titan mate but just couldnt stump up the 400 euros this was a ebay bargain and suits the car better i think

ive just looked back through this thread and seen a pic of the car when i first got it and cant belive how far its come im only after few more parts and its done,,im after a mint sportsline carbon radio tray and lwb battery holder also in carbon and a pair of alloy diff mounts and maybe a carbon rear wing for the bmw shell or if not that a spitfire mk2 escort in 1990 zebra stripes essex style

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

and by essex 1990 style i mean this it was a cover car in 1993 for max power one of the first mk2 escorts running a rs cosworth turbo engine it was a full group 4 tarmac rally spec and just looked great

big updates the car now has loads more carbon fibre inc front end shock tower and radio tray and a battery holder made from a side support this also comes in handy for the red race ignition coil,,,

ive fitted a few coloured countersunk washers to tidy things up and fitted some nice coloured rose joints blue up front and red for the rears[didnt have enough of one colour so used both lol] i think it suits it plus there 2 of the m sport colours

have refitted the metal disc's to the front hydros as they just look better than the white fibre ones,,ive given the car a good clean and part rebuild got some stickyback fake carbon sheets and covered the front spliter and rear spoiler much cheaper than a real carbon one for now it will do
