New to1/5 Scale..Slawhammer's Project

I went with that bearing guy I listed because he has the hard to get bearings and free shipping... and I had oodles of wheel and dif bearings

I have been ordering from the uk. last 2 items arrived duty free. hoping the rest arrives soon. the first package made it in 3 days!!

rain, man I was polishing a black bmw and it hit 34c yesterday. sure makes it tough to polish in that heat. I came home, ate dinner and fell asleep.
 
Pipe..Black is hard enough to polish in the shade ..let alone the heat....
as to bearings..ya have to look for deals all the time....You get a break on 10 bearings in a pack the same size....
 
Yahooo..Nice day..little over cast..67 degree's...I did get out for a short run....
this morning...I will be getting back out later...I have to take the miss's to do
some arrands for her flower beds....then I can have the rest of the day playing with
my car.....Not sure about any vid's..Will see what happens...Right now glad to get
out for some fun..due to all the rain days.........Nothing new as to up dates on my car it this time....There will be some up dates soon..Waiting on parts.......Slawhammer

CSP....Yup I got out for a bit of a run today....Little alley way time....just a good time
flawless ..with no issue's......The car ran great..that engine is getting better right along...
1 more gallon of fuel it will be loosened up..for top preformance.........
I chose the alley way today ..as I am not feel very well today...but I had a good time....
every time I run the car ..makes me feel like a 14 year old kid.........Love the loud exhaust......the wheels spinning.....rooster tails from the rear tires.......
no video..you all have seen the alley way....I can if you wish shoot some alley way...

I'm jealous. Yeah, nothing feels better (well, some things feel better ;)) then running the rc's. I'm going to get that motor on the test stand cranking again after dinner. I hope the damn thing stops leaking this time!

I'm glad you are doing well with that engine. I have got to get out in this nice weather this week.
 
Csp.....Well I have had a lot of down time due to bad weather..Rain...and some health
issues.....So I get out when I can even if for 15 minutes....little alley way time by the
house is better than nothing at all......I will see what the morning brings...maybe hit the
mini mall asphalt again....let it rip full tilt...make a short vid...you have seen the mini mall area before.....Not much for dirt area's...Oh yeah i could hit the ball diamond..kids
are back in school now.....play on the pitcher's mound........slawhammer
 
Dirt is fun at the beginning until the dust sticks to everything. I hate huge messes on my rc's. I'm too cheap to buy an air compressor to blow all the crud off.

Now I can't believe you have not $79.95 for a air compressor from Home Depot....
Many use's around the house...Wait till you have a flat tire in your drive way.....
or need to air up the kids wadding pool.............Yike's 46* degree's this morning
dam near frost on the punkin......be 68 to 70 by noon here...good time to go run the

Ok then I got out for about 1 hour run time.....Today seemed like torque steer....
power on hard car wants to spin to the right........I had to make some minor adjustments
the other day for the rear camber for the wheels to be up-right & centered....ring the rear
Thinking now I may have to bring the rear wheels toe out ward a bit...That may help the the power on torque........Any suggestions????.......Other wise dam near flawless running.
Going to head back out later...
Wonderful day..sunny and 65* degree's..projected high 75*............
Hope to get a video up..been while on that...Cheers my friends......Slaw

Don't toe them out too much, it'll split in half from the RAW POWER. ;)

It's overcast and rainy here. Congrats on the good weather!
 
CSP...I found a worn plastic eye...that attach's to the chassie....Guess what ..don't
have that size....Must be 8m..I will have sent over night express.....I am ok too run
just a bit of slop ola...I knew the eyes were getting worn..I was going to change all of them when done the chassie change over......New balls & eyes..fresh start again....
Still the waiting game for parts......Almost ready to make the change to the Fg Taper chassie pan......Just a few minor tid bits.....I may have to order yet some Fg Arms
and longer hinge pins to use duel shocks for the front.....Like the monster truck uses....
Hot Dam projected high is here 75* degree's out....got to get in some run time....
Yeah I figured the drive cup would split...if too much toe out....I am about 1* degree in
on both wheels....now..But with that slop in the eye that will change things...fix the eye and go from there.........Cheers my friends....Slaw
 
it's funny. we are both doing much the same changes but I think I email you more than I post in my own thread... I too am still waiting for parts. so my stuff just sits. I think I will repair my dremmel today... once all my stuff arrives I'll be laying it all out and taking stock. I might be able to send you some things you need down... Trip never let me know about the parts he needed?

well that security gig I was covering for my bud while he is publishing his new book continues hehe. was supposed to be 3 weeks... he just emailed and is in Glasgow now. His books are taking off and he needs to draw up another draft for yet another book... just asked me to cover until the end of October so he can go to Amsterdam for some background work. guaranteed income for my bad months is good, and ebay keeps a calling.... just got another carbon servo tray for the new chassis for $10 and bidding on a carbon rear shock tower and brace... should know tonight on that one...

I have an extra servo tray now it looks like. no mail lady today though :( so no goodies. I guess I will just seperate the parts into small boxes today as prep. I am in the same boat as you, if I take over the kitchen table I have to have it clean by morning. and I will need to bring another table in and take over part of the living room as well hehe...
 
Oh yeah I found some eyes...I remembered I had a steering rod with eyes that are
duratrax..so those will work.....I am hoping to get some steel rose joints.....
that will take care of not using plastic eyes.........Now i will have to keep a eyeout for those...(pun)Ha Ha.....cheers ..Slaw
 
Pipe....lookin good for goodies..always for the hobby....I am looking at my car and double checking what I want to do for the switch over of chassie pan's and to try and have what I need or want for the job coming up....yes along with the 2 spd....that I have every thing I need.....I will be doing the front end as well..so changes there...Alloy Bulk heads
change the shock tower and going to use longer Fg shocks or I have some piggy back
shocks coming for parts.........Slaw
 
Slaw, you have the FG long shocks mate, but you could make them a bit longer by using the 4x4 35mm long shock end I told you about...
 
Super:......Yup I do have the long Fg Shocks...I plan on using the longer eyes......
I had already bought Some pigy back shocks..before I talked to you.......
any way my son's can use the piggy back shocks...................
..LikeI mentioned I used the cross shock before bigger shock shaft...6mm ..bent it almost 90* degree's on impact...broke the top cap as well.........
