you will find allot of the FG parts will fit, just check before you buy though to be on the safe side.

ive read and seen allot of people having trouble with gears stripping but I ran about 6 litres through mine and they were fine, my cousin bought it off me and he is still running the original gears.

id go the smaller gear metal and the larger one plastic, worked fine for me :)

there so much stuff on ebay, simons radio spares, most stuff is 99p, you could get all you need for peanuts, keep the lower arms and hubs, the diff will be the most money but once your there its easy to keep together

Are the gears stripping on the top? If so is there flex somewhere that is letting something hit them or flex that is allowing them to run untrue? i would check to see if you can go all alloy and rid the problem.

there is a lot of alloy already in the rear but its all hung together with plastic and their isnt one onepiece that holds the gears true, so many parts make up the rear and so much room for movment and when its all bolted together it flexes alot aswell,

its all marder or beetle, i have mine in bits for some more mods so ill take some pics and make a list, you will have to drill and file the chassi abit aswell, also make a new shox tower, i can give you a template

hows the XRC going?

Man I must have been sold a gem because I ran about 10 litres through my XRC v-2 before selling it to my cousin who has run about 5 litres in his and the gears and steering servo are all original and working fine. By the sounds of it though im the only one with this luck!

Keep us posted on the XRC, id like to know how it handles over time.

Can the engine be turned around on these ? what i mean is the pull start in on the right side can i turn it 180 so that the pull start is on the left side ? & if that can be done can the rear end bits be turned so the gearing is on the other side of the buggy ? if you get what i mean.

Engine would be running 'in reverse' if you turn it thru 180deg would it not?? I think it would be more complicated than it 1st seems......

Yes it would , providing that the breaks & the bell housing fits on the other side you can go direct belt replacing the 24t/40t gears. Going direct belt the way it is atm it would drive in reverse all the time.

The 24t goes anti clockwise witch turns the 40t clock wise witch makes the little pinion gear go clockwise thus making the diff gear rotate anti clockwise making the wheels drive forward.

hope it makes sence

I thought about turning the engine 180 degrees as well but sold it before I put too much thought into it. Would work allot better I think if you could, prolly find allot of other aftermarket parts will fit as well.

Keep us posted on it anyway.
