I had a Royal Ripper too. That thing was a tank. I got it from a buddy who didn't want it. It always sounded sweet because of the four wheel steering, but something always broke and the speed control would always get too dang hot. I threw it away at some point, now i wished I would have kept it!

my 1st "real" RC was a tamiya HotshotII (4wd) with a tamiya "Gold" motor that i slapped in...thing was da bomb & fast 
...just used to hate waiting ages for my batt packs to charge up to only get 10min run times! 
lolz ....that was about 20+ years ago \o/
my 1st real engine powered RC was a Mardave Marauder just a few years later, then went over to trucks/etc

My first was a Tamiya Ford Ranger in blue complete with Acoms radio and Beeties holdall, can you believe I was given it by a cousin who worked at Beeties? Wish I had it now it would worth more than my MCD

mine was a tamiya lunch box and the michelin pilot escort cosworth, then a few 1/10th nitro tourers/buggies then got into the big stuff just over a year ago with my bmw m3 tourer (now sold) and a mutilator 6 (now sold) and now my leopard!

mine was a hotshot bought 2nd hand of a mate. was a good buggy at the time. It was shaft driven 4wd & my mates cheap Nikko pasted it on the straights cos of the weight so I stripped the shaft out & also the gears out of the front gearbox!! Didnt work!!

my first hobby grade rc i got when i was too young. i was given an old tamiya 2wd buggy. i didnt know what i had and i ended up hacking the thing to what i thought i wanted. i pretty much destroyed the thing, now its probly worth money lol.
my first one i bought when i was 16 was an hpi nitro rs4 2. great car. i started racing with it, learning about suspension setup, weight balance and all the other fun tuning things. with my tight budget i redesigned most of the car to better weight balance and actualy became competitive. i sold the thing off after i upgraded to a nitro tc3 many years later. i miss that car, i want it back.

after that I kind of adopted my mates old Mardave Meteor.

I cant remember the name or who made it , I think it was called a foxfire or firefox....back in the late 70's early 80's.
My first REAL RC was a Tamiya clod buster (mid to late 80's)...I loved that thing......and still have it to this day !
Its the big green truck to the right in the picture below , next to the spare yellow clod buster body.

Ur kidding me! My first rc was a fast trax too. Wish I still had mine though! I then got a hovercraft by tamiya which was awesome, no idea what happened to it and then a stadium blitzer.
Fromt there I went into nitro and now my true calling gassers!

Mine was the Tamiya Super Sabre, great 4wd car based on the hotshot chassis.
I was about 10 years old & built it myself in the mid-late 80's
I did find another one on ebay a couple of years ago to re-live the magic, but they have come so far now & i really should have just remembered it how i did back then!!
Lost count of the number of cars, elec & nitro i've owned since then!
This must be what addiction feels like!!

Mine was a nikko buggy from like zares or wal mart and this was 20+ years ago LMAO. Might have been from kmart,hard to remember,but i loved it and it broke and my dad would find a way to fix it everytime.

Hahahah!! i cant remember want my first RC was owww yes it was a Traxxas Tmaxx 2.5 mainly standard just alloy skid plates,wheelie bar,pro line body had great fun with it.... owwww i feal like getting another one..

Mine was the Tamiya Wild One. Got it for my 11th birthday !! Totally loved it. Though it did break quite easy , and my driving back then wasnt the best! (Same as now!!!)
Funny , cos ive been thru all the scales , with electric and Nitro , and my current pride and joy , my Baja , bares a little resemblance to the old Wild One !!! The classic Baja Buggy design ! Love It !!!
