Jeez and I thought I was bad at Rc related injuries,:ROFLMAO:

That sucks about the grub screw... I hate stuff like that... You're midway through maintanance or fitting new parts and it happens. Not having the right tools at your disposal at the time is equally frustrating. :mad: I had this last week. Had to pop next door to get some mole grips so I could remove a hinge pin!

Sounds like I need to look Rapid up. :)

I once cut top of my finger off when messing about with a drag car. Superglued the female dog back on all good [emoji23]

I have a lot of tools but no small metal drill bits. Pain in the arse.

Rapid are very helpful. If you do contact them tell them Kurt sent you there way, will look after you [emoji108]

nice drifter

just found out about a gasser track not to far from me, was told they do run 1/5
places to run off road, is far an few, I normally find a spot on week ends like construction site, empty parking lot
 
Top Tip: draper titanium coated hss drill bits are utter toffee for drilling anything other than soft tissue..... I have a matching thumb now. #coordinated

Ordered some industrial cobalt hss bits. They best do the job for what they cost!!!!

All this for an alloy gear plate.... [emoji849]

It's worth it in the end mate.

They only be model/toy cars, but I've found the fighting I've had to do with mine to get parts sourced and fitted was worth it.

The gear plate is a good upgrade and one of the last bits I need for the Porka

I know. These things are sent to test us.

I'm converting to cable rear disc brakes so won't need the caliper carrier, but what is this special Bush you speak of?

I'm told by rapid that it goes between the bearing for the clutch bell to make sure the spacing is right.

Adam from rapid emailed me theyve sent out a rhino multiplex servo as a replacement for the faulty fg item. Top class service again. [emoji1303]

If I'm honest it doesn't make sense to me at the moment. I'm hoping it becomes apparent where it needs to go when I disassemble the stock setup [emoji849][emoji23]

I'm only going by what I was told by rapid. They race competitively so they know there onions.

Have no clue where it goes at moment. The link says it's to stop binding of bearings. [emoji53][emoji848]

I don't think it goes in the bearing. More of a spacer between the clutch bell and bearing. But I could be wrong.

I asked rapid for a suitable gear plate and this was the response:

Evening Kurt, here is the FG alloy gear plate that will fit the car you have ordered http://www.rapid-racing.co.uk/Alloy-gear-plate-Sportsline-2WD-&-4WD---FG7474/15848.htm to fit the lay shaft brake to the gear carrier you will also require http://www.rapid-racing.co.uk/Alloy-gear-plate-brake-caliper---FG7040/1/15849.htm and then you will need this bush http://www.rapid-racing.co.uk/Distance-bush-Ø13/10-x-5mm,-1pce.---FG7474/5/15850.htm which goes between the bearing for the clutch bell to make sure the spacing is right.

Not seen one apart, but I wonder if it sits between the two bearings. It looks as though there is a bearing on the inner and outer sides of the gear plate. The Bush might sit between them

Don't know ?
